A classic film from the story of Roald Dahl. Love Rowan Atkinson in this, and Anjelica Huston is amazing!

A good film for kids before trick or treating, even if I didn't fall under its spell.

Not what I was expecting but I had fun. The witch makeup is great and the mouse stuff didn't look terrible.

A wicked little children's chiller. Holds up surprisingly well, with great great effects from Jim Henson. One of the better Roald Dahl adaptations, even with the cop-out ending. May be too scary for the really little ones though...

[5.8/10] I don’t like to play the “Who is this for?” card. It can stack the deck against films that do something unique or otherwise out of the ordinary. There’s room for films that don’t fit into traditional boxes, even if the specific audience they’re after isn’t immediately clear.

His grandmother has made him worldly wise to the ways of witches, and so he is alert to the antics of "Eva" (Angelica Huston) when he and his ever-hungry new friend "Bru More

No wonder this fabulous movie has become
a British cult classic.
It's so naughty and dark
and never could be recreated in such a way today,
and that makes me sad for the times we live in.
