The Real Thing is more amateurish than an elementary school soccer team. A young man who works in a mid-level office position finds a young woman stuck on the train tracks and spends the rest of the film (and his apparently bottomless bank account) saving her obey and over again. Unfortunately, he only wants to be a knight in shining armor so he can treat her like a dragon. While there's a certain curiosity as to why he would do this, the plot doesn't merit the attention it demands. [Note: the original version of this film is four hours long, but it was released as two films in France. As I'm not a masochist, I didn't see part 2.]

[LasPalmasFF] How to turn a teenage love story into an adult tribute to romance. The four-hour film editing from the 10-part series develops characters who seek a way to love, from passivity or from hyperactivity. The meeting between them fits perfectly. When the director masterfully changes the point of view, in the last act, the plot is repeated in a Moëbius strip that is both face and reverse of the same story.
