Some good cinematography, some bad CG, and it's very 90s, but it basically works as one of those "it happened again" kind of sequels.

Intense and thrilling, _The Rage: Carrie 2_ delivers a frightening tale of horror. In this long awaited sequel, a social misfit named Rachel starts to develop telekinetic powers in the wake of her best friend’s suicide. The plot largely following the structure of the original _Carrie_, but modernizes it and continues some story threads from the first film. The characters are developed fairly well, and the climatic action scene is dramatic and exciting. Still, the film is formulaic and has some plot holes. Yet while it has some problems, _The Rage: Carrie 2_ is a solid thriller that stays true to Stephen King’s original work.

Expectations are often a key aspect of how you feel about a movie, and I really didn't expect anything from this sequel to "Carrie." Accordingly, I was pleasantly surprised at the end. Even though it's a rather superfluous and pointless sequel, the movie itself is still pretty enjoyable.

On a positive note, I would emphasize that the main character, Rachel, is not a simple copy of Carrie but is given a significantly different characterization. Leading actress Emily Bergl also does an excellent job overall. And even if the plot does drag on for quite a long time, at least the finale is a surprisingly brutal highlight that makes the movie worthwhile on its own.

All in all, with the right expectations, "The Rage" is a decent 90s horror film that doesn't come close to living up to the original but is still worth a recommendation for fans of the genre.
