90s MTV ADHD on speed cuts with every single form of animation possible in all the colors discovered at every point in the time and then some. The core story is quite the usual coming to terms with identify with the lead as gonzo narrator but the storytelling it is heartwarming and the surface medium is highly entertaining even for myself not being very proficient in Batman lore. Is it offensive to call it a very trans movie? I don't know. But I like it.

With all the wildness, it’s disappointing that the themes and questions of the film are so tame. A good chunk of the story is an extremely standard transition memoir in a Gotham skin. The skin maybe allows a little more familial resentment to come through than usual?
