“The Mummy’s on the loose and he’s dancin’ with the Devil” in _The Mummy’s Curse_. When an archeologist tracks the course of the swamp that the mummy sank into with the reincarnated Princess Ananka, he comes across a construction site draining a section of the swamp and comes to believe that the mummy is loose again; meanwhile, Princess Ananka emerges from the swamp restored to her younger self, but with no memory of who she is. Lon Chaney Jr. gives a phoned in performance and the characters are all broad stereotypes. And the switch from the New England setting to the Deep South is quite jarring. However, there’s a bit of intrigue to the Ananka mystery and some exciting fight scenes. Yet while it has its moments, _The Mummy’s Curse_ is a mess from start to finish.

This proved to be the final instalment in the series of the adventures of poor old "Kharis" (Lon Chaney Jr.) as he continues to try and reunite with his "Princess Ananka" (this time Virginia Christine), and is actually one of there better ones.
