I had never seen this but was told that it was a great movie. I tried to figure out how a great monster movie could have avoided me so I was looking forward to seeing it. Well I quickly realized while watching it that peoples' fondness for it has to be for nostalgic reasons because "The Monster Squad" is a corny kid's movie with bad dialogue annoying pre-teens and a lightweight story. I guess if I had seen it when I was 10 or 11 it may have been interesting but there's not much in it for adults.

Who are you gonna call? The Monster Squad! That was a fun watch, little cheesy from the monsters thought but everything else counters it.

A group of children against a collection of monsters. Smells like inspiration for Stranger Things here.

In a mash-up of classic horror and 1980s nostalgia, The Monster Squad offers a unique, family-friendly spin on monster lore, with a sense of fun that holds up well. The film follows a group of young horror enthusiasts who discover their town is threatened by none other than Dracula, Frankenstein’s More
