What an absolute delight. This is a fun Christmas psychological/dark comedy oscillating between moments of anxiety and pure ecstasy. The film starts of as a mumblecore quirky comedy but slowly transitions into something darker and depressing. The location and cast are limited in this one and it has this weird murky feel for the majority of its runtime, but the characters in this film are great and really spike my anxiety through the roof. This was one of my most anticipated horror this year so I'm a bit disappointed that there's not quite enough absurdity to make for a much better dark comedy, but I still had a great time with this. There's enough madness during its third act and it's set at Christmas!

A priest lets a homeless couple into his home around Christmas time as an act of kindness. An ultimate test of faith ensues after the couple abuse his hospitality. **The Leech** is a religious psychological comedy horror with great dialogue and solid performances from it's tight cast comprising of only four characters. It explores the complexity of Christianity and putting one's faith to the test when faced with your demons and influencing people. The psychological horror elements are solid and I could really feel for the characters that are put in difficult positions. It has some great comedy I had a few laughs and the third act was a feast! I could see this becoming a Christmas classic for me and definitely one to check out this holiday season.

I can see where this is coming from. It's an entertaining little rebellious piece that is probably stronger the more American you are. I'm not, but I found it fun and interesting anyway. Lower your expectations and it's a pretty clever little ride.
