Generally speaking, the tone is pretty inconsistent here, but I still enjoyed the majority of this movie, even if it’s not totally sure what it wants to be. Sam Jackson does what Sam Jackson does best, Joe Manganiello is a brooding hitman-turned-artist, and Uma Thurman is manic in a very hit-or-miss performance depending on the scene. Tension is well-built throughout and leads to a climax that ties everything together, but in a way that is, perhaps, too clean. Part fine-art satire, part crime comedy, and part introspective study on what it means to be an artist, I just wish The Kill Room had settled into one lane a bit more deeply.

While the mechanics and flow of this film kept me engaged, I never actually felt like there was ever any real point to this film. This was a great concept on paper, yet was executed in groundless, wandering manner. While Uma Thurman is not terrible, her chemistry with the bagman was Non-Existent. Well I found Samuel Jackson's character intriguing and a novelty, no one's performance or presence was important. Anyone could have starred in this film and would have got the same job done. I only watch this film because it was on an airplane showcase. If it's never brought up or mentioned again, I would probably not even realize this existed.

So I think I liked this movie lol, the fact I have to say it like that should tell you everything you need. I think the start is done really poorly, but once it gets into it and you know who the players and stakes are, it does have a decent flow and turns into a decent movie. I think Joe Manganiello does the heavy lifting of picking the movie up from being completely average to at least enjoyable enough to not regret your time with. Many better movies out there from 2023, but also many worse movies as well. Not all of it works, but the things that do work, work well enough that I could overlook the things that didn't. Mileage may vary.

6/10 I guess it was funny. The story was well founded, but it was poorly executed. Samuel was great as always, Joe was fine, Uma annoying as fuck, the side characters were terrible in their acting. Movie didn’t know where it wanted to go, from slow pace to fast pace, it was all over the place. Their were some funny moments but that’s all. Fine movie to watch with your mind turned of

I like it, i love how they destroy the whole art thing and its pretentious crap. Yes i do not believe a red canvas is an art to be sold for a million. And other such stupid stuff. It played with that pretty good. Thurman was likeable, one of the few times for me, good chemistry and enjoyed the plot and the ending. Quirky and funny.
