After the fantastic outing that was The Iron Giant, Brad Bird delivers The Incredibles. Darker at times than most Disney/Pixar fare The Incredibles, along with Ratatouille, are my favourite Pixar films.

The voice cast is pitch perfect and evokes a real family dynamic that is the soul of this film. Between the animation artists and Holly Hunter they bring to life a living, breathing Mother with a love for her family that is palpable on screen. A true achievement.

The script is one of the tightest of all the Pixar films, the photography is stunning. The water/fluid effects blew away anything that had come before it and are still a benchmark of rendering.

The scene where Frozone is asking his wife where his super suit is is truly hilarious and I still quote it now.

Incredible.

"Honey, where's my super suit?"

The best fantastic four movie out there. One of Pixar's best movies and holds up very well. It's still a blast to watch. I love all the real family drama and real problems they have. All the action is great. Edna is a great character. I'm really looking forward to the sequel.

The Incredibles is beautifully made. It's heady mix of good looks, sharp whit and heart of gold mean you can't fail to fall for it's charms. The futuristic nostalgia grabs the attention throughout.

The slightly disappointing third act stops this being an absolute classic, but this is an extremely good film.

I've gotta say. This is the best Pixar film to date. For visuals I give it only a 7/10 but maybe that's just me being snobby because I'm into 3D rendering and this was made in the early 2000's. But for overall story and viewing experience, 10/10. It was funny, exciting, emotionally engaging, and in general had the right amount of everything.

The standard-bearer of excellence for the Pixar animation house, The Incredibles has aged well in the seven years since its release, and it should come as no surprise. With a clever, all-ages sense of humor, a masterfully paced storyline, wonderfully rounded characters and genuinely perfect voice acting, the filmmakers have left little cause for concern.

Spotted throughout with nods, winks and nudges of all shapes and sizes for the dedicated comic book fans that are bound to be in the audience, the plot also remains easily-accessible for those who haven’t so much as laid eyes a funny book. On top of that, its excellent sense of timing and regular ability to one-up itself is more than enough to ensure that no eyeballs wander far from the center of the screen. The perfect family film, it's also something I have no shame about watching repeatedly by my lonesome.

I still think this is my favorite Pixar movie. It holds up so well, and it just delivers such solid family fun with some genuine laughs and actual impressive action sequences.
How is it Pixar able to get a Fantastic Four movie done soo perfectly, but Marvel can't...?

@jekyl6669 Because the Fantastic 4 movies of the past were made by Fox, not Disney. Now Disney owns Fox so they will make the next Fantasic 4, X-Men and Deadpool movies so they won't suck anymore.

3 Thoughts After Re-Watching ‘The Incredibles’:

1. A Pixar classic. Plenty of action and humor for adults and kids alike.

2. I love Holly Hunter’s voice. So distinct and perfect for Mrs. Incredible.

3. Never enough Edna Mode.
