Solid heist thriller, that somehow manages to fall completely apart about 20minutes away from the end.

@magiin I'm surprised you said that. What happens to cause it to fall apart, in your opinion?

@longinus876 The whole hypnosis idea, followed by some random house keeper who makes an appearance and starts a whole different direction of the movie. Just felt like the ending was totally forced out of a 'well, we're not sure how else to end this' script write up

@magiin I haven't seen it in some years now, but I don't remember a housekeeper. Ha, I know that the Miasmo stuff was far fetched, but I was buying it. I thought Lynne Gordon did a tremendously realistic job in the elevator with Rober Weil. Very realistic, I thought. Whenever I go into a bank vault for the safe deposit box I think of saying Afghanistan, Bananastan, or banana stand. I think it was Bananstan. BTW, the movie is much better than the book by Donald Westlake. It's like the James Bond movies are much better than the Ian Flemming books, IMHO. All that hypnosis stuff was in the novel. Two parts I thought were weak were the scene in Topo Swope's apartment and the scene with "Chicken" throwing Greenberg's son down the elevator shaft. I thought there were so many funny lines too. They were funny because of who delivered them. And how they were delivered. I especially got a kick out of Murch.<br /> I bet if you asked 100 people about the movie, they'd all have different feelings about where it fell down. And all would be right. I'm glad you responded to my response. I look forward to hearing more of your ideas.
