Very underrated, I'm not sure what people expected when they saw Seth Rogan was playing the lead character here, but if you are going in thinking you're watching an Avengers style movie, you'll be let down. If you go in thinking this could be funny, it will be.

not bad as long as you know what you are watching & don't expect something it isn't. light hearted bit of fun & major cheese sums this up. i didn't mind it actually.

On the surface, this sounds like an awkward concept with extremely questionable casting, and in execution it’s… exactly that. I'll admire the guts it took to look at this from a totally different perspective and cast Seth Rogen in the leading role, but he really doesn't step up his game to match the opportunity. His character is a total jerk, an unlikeable doofus I couldn't pull for in the even simplest melodramatic setup, and Rogen's constant pursuit of the perfect mistimed joke only adds fuel to the fire.

Of course, it doesn't help matters that the movie itself is an incomprehensible mess, constantly straddling the line between reality and exaggeration, without a tangible player in the hunt. Director Michel Gondry brings a grand total of three surreal, dreamy, inspired scenes to the table and sleepwalks through the rest of the process, which is a major disappointment. Even Christoph Walz, in a brow-furrowing role as an evil Russian mafioso, can’t spin this straw into gold. An irritatingly generic action dump with neither an emotional connection to the audience nor a tangible hold on reality. In short, a total waste of time.

Seth Rogen as a superhero could of been great but sadly this movie wasn't that.

>"Kato, I want you to take my hand, and I want you to come with me on this adventure."

We all knew what we were getting into when watching this: Silly fun. I feel like Seth Rogen found physical humor in Pineapple Express and ever since then he like to do fun stunts, and it does add something funny to his films. Doesn't seem like a movie that will be remembered forever, but you can tell they had fun making it.

The Green Hornet is one of the most underappreciated superhero films in recent years. After the death of his father, rich playboy Britt Reid teams up with his mechanic Kato to be masked vigilantes, but their activities soon gets the attention of a rising drug lord. Writer/actor Seth Rogen does an impressive job at creating a smart and original superhero origin film that pays homage to the source material while still delivering a new and modern interpretation of the character. Additionally, the tone is kept upbeat and fun; capturing the lighthearted side of the superhero genre. And for the most part, the film’s able to stay relatively grounded while maintaining a satirical edge, which prevents it from becoming too campy. However, there are a few points where things get a little too cartoonish, and this does hurt the film’s momentum. Yet overall, The Green Hornet is a tremendously fun and entertaining adventure.

Seth Rogen shows he can be a terrible actor and a terrible writer at the same time – double barreled, like the weapon given to Christoph Waltz's character.

Michel Gondry somehow manages to have every single actor looking overpaid and washed up. Perhaps Cameron Diaz is merely "meh" here and thus the least underwhelming performer.

Besides a short song interlude, there's nothing whatsoever redeeming about the movie.
