One of the better supernatural horror films I've seen in quite awhile. Yes, there were "jump scares" but the overall feel of the movie - from the opening moments 'til the final second - was just ominous, creepy, and enough to give you the willies. I admit I had reservations about the title; it doesn't really sound all that "original" but wow, was it ever appropriate for this particular film. The whole thing was just "dark and wicked", just like the title says. While it wasn't an "all-star cast", the acting was terrific pretty much across the board; I can't think of anyone who didn't seem to give an A+ effort to this little-heard-of film. Again, from start to finish, it was well-carried by anyone and everyone in the story and I have to give props to the cinematography...it was top-notch. Everything from the extreme close-ups to filming the darkest scenes (quite a number of them) just was done exceptionally well. The story itself was original - not some regurgitated, "already been done" thing - and so much of this had you wondering just who and what was actually real, imagined, or otherwise. Beautifully made movie and certainly one of the better horror flicks I've seen. If you're a horror fan, you need to watch this; this is a beautifully done horror movie from start to finish. Highly recommended.

PS: As an added mention, being from Texas, I appreciated the fact that their southern accent truly sounded like a Texas accent and not some overexaggerated southern drawl like you hear in so many films today. Not sure where any of the cast is from but their accents definitely could pass for native Texans. To me, that just added to the realism and overall appeal of the movie!
