Absolutely awful. Just completely awful. At some points, it was so bad it was _almost_ funny but for the most part, it was just completely awful. I sometimes "enjoy" (in a masochistic manner) watching these old movies from the 1970's (being a child of the 1960's myself, the 70's were my adolescent/teen years) in spite of how bad they are by today's standards. But this...this was just bad. The story, the acting was absolutely some of the worst I've sat through, the dialogue, the entire thing... There was no "great cinematography" in this one, and even the soundtrack was a nightmare. What was with the constant military drumbeat anytime something was going on? NOTHING about this film made any sense at all, and the conclusion was just as bizarre and confusing as all the rest of it. I won't say I'm sorry I watched it because I watched it mainly to compare it to the reboot that came years after, but wow...this was absolutely one of the worst movies I've ever sat through in its entirety. Just completely bad. Do yourself a favor and avoid this one; it is NOT worth two hours of your life. Take my word for it. This was just BAD.
