Geophysicist Dr. Josh Keyes discovers that an unknown force has caused the earth's inner core to stop rotating. With the planet's magnetic field rapidly deteriorating, our atmosphere literally starts to come apart at the seams with catastrophic consequences. The Thirty Seconds to Mars recording at the end was of such bad quality it ruined the whole movie.

Welp, as far as worldwide destruction movies go, this *ain't* the worst. Not the best, either, but it's still at least entertaining enough to shut your brain off for all the ridiculous pseudoscience used to explain the plot or how our brave heroes would even pull off "restarting" the Earth's core.
