This showed up on a list of psychological thrillers on Hulu. While I usually love a good psych thriller film, this was a huge letdown. The "reveal" was so early on, and so brazen, that I kept thinking it was going to be some weird twist, a curve to throw you off the scent, so to speak. It wasn't. It was just what the "reveal" led you to think, and the movie itself was incredibly wooden, lifeless, emotionless. There were absolutely no characters to buy into, and while I became a fan of Dylan McDermott in _The Practice_ , he just seemed to be phoning this one in. Charlie Plummer played his part perfectly… if his role was to portray a completely brain-dead, emotionless, utterly useless teenage son just beginning the battle with hormones. That laughably awful pickup truck scene, _"I like you."_ and then they're swapping tongue and getting ready to "go at it like drunk monkeys" (in the words of Roy D. Mercer) was a harbinger of how incredibly shallow the rest of the film was going to be. There was no twist, there was no "thrill" and there was barely any psychological to this so-called "psychological thriller". "Uncle Rudy" (played by Mark Nash) had the most character and the best lines of anyone throughout the entire film; the rest of the movie would have done well to follow his lead in portraying emotion through this whole stinker. Just a bad movie all the way around.
