A film that simultaneously makes your blood boil and makes you silently contemplate your reasons for feeling as such. Though occasionally explicit without outright reason (in the tradition of most Dogma 95 films), it stands head and shoulders above most in the manifesto'#39;s catalogue by providing complex human analysis to coincide with the rough cinematography.

Extreme intensity, one of the most Immersive films ever made. The camera is frenetic, it never misses a movement, an expression, and the image is raw, visceral, there is no artificial light or soundtrack, the sensation is of watching a home video of a real family reunion. The story is bizarre, weird, it goes down absurd paths and reaches unimaginable places, often to the point of despair, it's all a complete mess, where comedy, tragedy and the disturbing go hand in hand towards total chaos.

You know how sometimes you watch something, and it’s kinda perfect in its own way, but you realize it doesn’t entirely hit you in the way it should because another creator has taken the concept and improved 'amp; expanded on it by leaps and bounds? If I try to remove that context for myself (although that’s not entirely possible, of course), I think this is outstanding. The dialogue and characters are amazing, the Dogma 95 filmmaking style works really well in this faux documentary context, it’s offensive and chaotic in the best possible way and the entire thing is memorable from beginning to end because it hits so many emotions perfectly. 9/10

The discovery of paternal sexual abuse.

Overrated and filled with dogma clichés, this movie could make you believe that the more it'#39;s boring, the better it is. Just avoid the pain if you think you'#39;re going to watch something raw. It is really just a bad movie pretending it'#39;s good.

it was a rebel act against the cinema du papa from the dogma movement, i think Luis Bunuel would'#39;ve loved that film because there'#39;re lots of elements in it similar to his masterpieceThe Exterminating Angel.

The original title of the film is Festen.
