Tom Savini is still the man for practical effects. I always enjoy seeing his work. Totally forgot Jason Alexander is in here! And he isn't Costanza yet! He's a happy young man! Brian Backer is here too! He was off to a great start for an acting career with The Burning and after that Fast Times at Ridgemont High! Not many actors can say that! We even get a young Holly Hunter and Fisher Stevens.

That is another great thing about these horror movies from the 80s, so many actors got their start in these movies!

Anyway it has been awhile since I've seen the Burning and damn that raft scene is still epic. And Crospy is still a great killer. His weapon is still very original. I also forgot how mean these kids were! And I still very much enjoy the Camp setting for Slasher movies.

So, if you haven't seen the Burning yet it is definitely worth checking out!
