This film is kind of meh. I can see why it struggled in theaters. As much as I love Sam Rockwell, I wish the film focused more on the Ann Atwater character, and the black people in general. I think the director fails to provide any real context to their story and struggles.

These movies are always easy to be good, hard to be great. A good motive, with a solid plot, and a rock solid cast. I will likely never watch this one again, but I don't have much negative to say about it. It reminded me of Green Book in many ways, but I preferred the background narrative of that one a tad more. Rating: 3/5 - 75% - Worth Watching

This flick my friends was as good as it could get. You are either going to love it or you are going to think it is totally ignorant. It is to the latter that I say, when will you grow up? Times have been changing right before your eyes and you failed to even notice. My hats off to the people involved with the creation of this time piece.
