An insurance agent who cares about all his victims.

It's a bit of a bizarre one, but I did really enjoy 'The Adjuster'. Words aplenty I do not have, it's just simply a very good film. The music is, in my opinion, its standout feature, as it sets the tone incredibly well - the sense of trepidation throughout is super. Elias Koteas is an excellent lead, though Arsinée Khanjian and Maury Chaykin perform just as strongly. There's a lot to take in, but it is very much worthy of your time.

Incredible. Not really a comedy but you do sometimes find it funny. It's very atmospheric and dark. The subtle mystery and suspense feel builds throughout. The suspense and mystery isn't so much a criminal element or plot based puzzle but how the characters really feel and what will happen. The movie needed a good end to work and we got one. But even that was cryptic in a way. You felt the end work more than fully understand why. Like all this movie it makes you feel a lot if you're willing to read the situations and realise the intentions. The kind of movie the Cohen brothers wish they could make. Very complex and layered. Never pretentious or arty but deeper than many pretentious or arty movie tries to be. The cinematography was brilliant in that it didn't try to be different for the sake of it but it just did its job amazingly. The music was also perfect. For one, it's about relationships and what destroys them, like our impulses and selfishness. It explores themes in stripped down way that allows the viewer to put their own life experiences and social knowledge in place as a key elements. Definetly not to be taken in on one viewing. Maybe for fans of movies like Blue Velvet.
