Less full-blooded horror and more coming of age tale with a dysfunctional twist. It's a good film but don't expect any extended werewolf scenes.

A french comedy without any fart jokes and the romance is without infidelity? Mon dieu! Blunt body humor still, but hey it's small steps! Then again, it is low budget indie dark comedy really and I'd suspect some inspiration from Greek weird wave. Some less fortunate takes but in all entertaining and at a few moments even gripping. Honestly I was actually mildly surprised in a good way.

An intentionally cheap werewolf flick that does the job. What makes it interesting is the small village redneck atmosphere of the story and attitude of most of the characters which is very pleasing. Apart from that it basically goes through all the expected steps of a werewolf movie, really nothing original there, but the setting and characters makes it oddly charming. There's no pretension to be a huge fx movie, or horror slasher, just a small werewolf story happening to regular nobodies in a small village. That's it. It's nice, cute, funny sometimes, and a little tragic. Really a great job. Not clear where the werewolf comes from though,
a wolf is killed, but looks like it was a real wolf
. There also a grandma seemingly killed in the intro, but we never hear about her again. I mean, everybody is complaining about the wolf killing sheep, and no one ever say something about the missing old lady ?
