Ted 2 had a few amusing moments that could be enjoyed without any context. Ultimately though, this film was let down by a plot that continuously stumbled forwards and backwards, much like a drunk, stoned writer.

Comedies do get dumb sometimes, but this thing was born dumb.

A definite step down from the first, as the novelty has worn off and a lot of the humor falls flat. Specifically, the humor feels more forced and sketch based, often having no intersection with the story (e.g., Liam Neeson cameo, throwing fruit at joggers). On top of that, it seems to lean more on over the top set pieces and slapstick versus clever dialogue. That said, there are still successful bits sprinkled throughout (e.g., Monopoly exchange, improv suggestions). The final act felt rushed and Donny's return as the central villain was superficial and didn't go anywhere interesting. Despite all that, Wahlberg and MacFarlane are still enough to keep it watchable.

What the heck! You can't just say they divorced like that!

I’m late to the game with this one; even as a fan of the original the bad press surrounding Ted 2 wasn’t surprising to me, and I must confess it pushed it down the queue a bit. So I got around to watching it and imagine my surprise - it’s actually funny.

That’s not to say the bad press was un-warranted. The plot meanders around and takes forever to get off the ground. Once it does get airborne it doesn’t really go anywhere that interesting at all. The jokes are all a little same-y and the way MacFarlane tries to force his characters’ world-view on the audience is a little tiresome.

However, it made me laugh. And I’m sure it’ll make most people laugh. How many films made in the last 15 years have given you a genuine, ‘pause the video’, belly laugh? Probably fewer than 20.

Ted 2 is crappy framework for some solid jokes. Make of it what you will. Sometimes you just want to laugh.

I needed something silly and mostly got what I wanted, but even with those low expectations, the plot is just a disaster. It feels more like a bunch of loosely connected improv pieces, interleaved by some mildly amusing cameos.

The only really good thing about Ted1 was Mila Kunis. And she is not in this one. Not even all the famous faces and cameos can fix that.

There's a plenty of pop culture reference in this film, and occasional snarky remarks which make you grin a little. But even as a vulgar outlandish comedy - which usually I enjoy pretty well - Ted 2 only comes off as gross, repetitive, and boring. It rehashes the same comedic element over and over again to the point you might be wondering, "heck, I swear I've heard/seen that for the 10th time."

Great film! Too many funny jokes and good impression

A phenomenal sequel to one of the best comedies of this generation. Although the overall premise of this continuous is different from the original, a lot of the memorable plot points are the same, especially the ending when John acts dead but is actually alive just to mess with Ted. The first 3/4 of the movie is one hilarious joke after the other as the story takes shape. Unlike the first film being about John and Ted’s life together, this plot is based around Ted which is very fitting and the reason why I think it’s better and funnier than the first.

I laughed so hard on some low-class lines, and I think it's something really relaxing to do once in a while.

Ted 2

Nice and funny, better than the previous chapter, with original comedy sketches, jokes even black humor. Still remains a fairly corny comedy, but I recommend it as a movie to watch on an evening with friends.
