If you can relate to the music you will have fun. A nice concert. Unfortunately not much more. I had honestly wished for a bit more story or interviews. But after the remake trailer of A24 I wanted to have a look.

Look it's an amazing concert film, we all know that. It's an almost watertight tracklist with great flow, and when combined with the amazing vocals and stage presence from David Byrne, it's hard to think of better ways of spending 88 minutes. However, it just feels inherently uncinematic to me. I think I'd get just as much out of this by simply listening to this. Not that it's ugly or boring to look at, in fact this is all well directed and edited, but you're not using the cinematic artform to create something I wouldn't get by simply going to a Talking Heads concert. Still highly recommended, but you could also listen to the live album on streaming, you know. 7.5/10

Jonathan Demme timed this idea perfectly. Talking Heads may have already been around years before and may have peaked in fame two years after but 1980-1983 marked the most frantic energy for both their music and performances. I'm not sure Jonathan Demme really had too much to do here as David Byrne and "Talking Heads" present us with a belter of a creative toe-tapper.
