An enjoyable movie with an insight into the latter years of this legendry duo's life together. Accurate, I don't know. Whatever the case they are presented a friends, which I am sure they must have been working so closely for the years they were together.

Ultimately, every success has it's day and the 50's wasn't their decade

This movie excels in its simplicity and dedication to the art of acting. Brilliantly cast, Coogan and Reily have the right chemistry to play this iconic duo. But let's not discredit Henderson's and Arianda's work either, playing their wives. It was a brilliant move to play them off against each other as well, but to shape a bond between them too.

There are some side stories that do not go anywhere, but besides that it is a lovely homage to the art of theater, comedy and how a long lasting friendship can shape a carreer and life.

Great movie about the attempt to resurrect the Laurel and Hardy. Great performances by Coogan and John C Reilly. Recommended as it is played so well you become engulfed in the story, must watch for Laurel and Hardy fans.

Really enjoyed this much more than what I was expecting. I was skeptical at first. Especially when I learned it was about their later life. I don't like when instead of celebrating an artist's life, they show the drama too much, the bad stuff and the decline. This surprisingly to me felt like an homage and celebration although that it happens when it's passed their time.

A delightful movie about friendship. John C. Reilly and Steve Coogan are both terrific. The makeup on Reilly was done well. I’m not familiar with Laurel & Hardy but this gave us all the info needed. Their last performance was emotional.

@nmahoney416 It isn't entirely accurate. There's a lot of artistic licence but it's extremely well made and a great film.

A well made and well acted Oscar snubbed movie about Laurel (Steve Coogen) and Hardy (John C. Reilly).
The film follows their later years as they struggle to get an audience. They struggle to make money as greedy agents and directors make more off them. Than they do making their own movies or off their own shows. As they dream to make a Robin Hood film together.
I find movies about the early days of films and entertainment, intriguing. Such as Chaplin. Except this film is probably better than Chaplin.
Since it has a more focused story and doesn’t jump through their years of life. The movie still manages to tell their story and focuses on their relationship well.

Fairly good movie without being spectacular. I saw all the 'funny bits' in L&H movies as a kid, so none of them were funny in this movie. It starts in 1937 for a few minutes to give us some background and then jumps to 1953 where the rest of the movie stays in that time period. I knew nothing of L&H other than what I saw in their movies, so this was interesting for me. The movie moves along at a reasonable pace and keeps you interested right up till the end. Solid 7/10.
