What? No review? Well here I go. This is not a very known movie, unfortunately, but one of the most profound movies I have ever seen. The movie is about a young boy living with a monk on a temple floating on a little lake. The movie progresses through all seasons and each season is represented by a different stage in the boys life: Child, Adolescence, Adulthood, Old Man.
Similar to nature, each stage/season is showcased by the unique struggles the boy is facing.
The cinematography is beautiful, great directing and camera work, and the score is very fitting.
The movie would've not worked as well if those were not spot on, since this movie does not rely on dialog. Yes, you read right. This review probably contains more words than the entire movie and this is how I promote this movie to friends as well. This movie does not need to rely on language to reveal a part of human nature and the human struggle, in each and everyone of us.
If I judge a movie by the impact it had on my life, if any, this movie is at the very top.
In order to be enlightened, keep an open mind!
