An enjoyable if rather inconsistent film. Pip and Jo are both great as Will and Michael, respectively. Jo has the smouldering intensity, while Pip successfully conveys a wide-eyed innocence of someone coming to terms with their sexuality, and together they share an interesting night.

One of the weakest things about Sodom is how it begins - the escalation is too severe, IMO: from passing strangers one moment to having sex in Michael's apartment minutes later - even factoring in any alcohol in the equation.
There are also some cutaways scattered throughout, of Michael or Will being on a beach somewhere, which are both confusing and jarring. Presumably they are meant to be revealing of some subconscious reaction of the characters, but they didn't work for me
. Also, while we learn
that Jo's character, Michael, was a serial cheater on his long-term Ex, it still seemed a little bit of a stretch how the two men happily jump into bed with one another so quickly, bearing in mind Will is meant to be on his Stag Do for his impending marriage
.

Some of the best moments in the film happened during the more in-depth conversations between Will and Michael about coming out, and what it means to be a gay man. The two actors also had an easy chemistry with each other, which made the film very watchable.

I'm sure some viewers will criticise this film as being "boring" and "not much happens", but I do have to give it points for trying something different, and Pip and Jo do well with the occasionally wonky script/direction. I did like the ending, however,
even if it was kind of a cliffhanger I think it worked well in this instance and didn't feel unjustified as a stopping point
.
