Cop drama discovers a whole corrupt system behind the scenes. It's so sleepy and dull for far too much of the runtime. So unlike Glickenhaus' other films. The atmosphere's all here, the city grittiness... but hardly anything else gluing it all together. That one major chase through the city was pretty explosive

A lot more dull than I was expecting. The courtroom drama was unexpected, but done well with a nice level of authenticity, until it's intercut with some really ridiculous action sequences, which pulls you right out of the movie. It's like Glickenhaus couldn't decide between which kind of movie he wanted to make. It's a shame too, since he had such a great cast.

You come for the gritty New York setting, car chases, crazy dialogue and even a courtroom drama. I was pleasantly caught off guard with all the varied scenes in this film.

"Shakedown" is much too unremarkable for its own good and obviously somebody somewhere must have realised this so in order to effectively remedy such an unwanted situation somebody somewhere has deemed it appropriate that the film ought to be modelled more upon the box office hit "Lethal Weapon" (19 More
