When Jay and Annie first got together, their romantic connection was intense – but ten years and two kids later, the flame of their love needs a spark. To kick things up a notch, they decide – why not? – to make a video of themselves trying out every position in The Joy of Sex in one marathon three-hour session. It seems like a great idea – until they discover that their most private video is no longer private. It made me laugh...so it did something right. Might be a higher rating if it hadn't been for the fact that it's an R-rated Apple commercial...

There's a few chuckles in here, but its mostly boring and unfun with some poor acting and jokes that dont land. I think the biggest mistake the movie makes is showing the tape at the end. Because it makes a lot of other parts (like how turned on Jay and Annie's friends played by Rob Corddry and Ellie Kemper are by the tape, which by the way is probably the funniest part of the movie) seem implausible. Also nothing from that ending sequence is funny anyway, so its not like its worth it. Jack Black's (apparently uncredited?) part in the movie is another highlight worth mentioning. Also Rob Lowe's charachter should be funny, but kinda doesn't land. The movie's "villian" persay doesn't really land either.

None of the tech logic made sense, every single thing was wrong and all of it could’ve been immediately avoided. None of the jokes landed and the arc in the relationship wasn’t convincing as well.

Sex Tape is another comedy that does not bring anything new. I can't deny that it made me laugh and I spent a good time, but it was nothing more than that. Unfortunately, there's more bad things to say about it than the good ones.
