trakt requires me to write at least 5 words to just say: boring.

Whats with the elementary school level battle to the death lol

Just another shitty Gen-Z reboot of actually good IP. Not even worth saying anything else about it.

There are a lot of inconsistencies when it comes to technology in this season and particularly in this episode. For example, there are LCD monitors and TVs everywhere but the news broadcast segments are still stylized to look like old 4:3 videos being played on a CRT TV.

In an era of an overabundance of content that differs between authentic commercial drivel and distinctive and complicated wanna-be's, _Scrapper_ is a genuine sigh of relief. We have here a typically British comedy drama film whose simplicity manages to convince with great effectiveness. A content suitable for everyone, pretentious or not, that cannot fail to stir genuine feelings in its audience. In a nutshell, proof that excellent cinema can still be made without needing huge capital and evil geniuses. Being the first feature film by a young director who was previously a complete unknown to most, it bodes well. I will definitely keep an eye on Charlotte Regan in the hope that she continues on this wavelength. I will wait with great curiosity.

Ok but the amount of mixed emotions the tooth fairy scene gave me??? Easily the best scene.

Very good, so loving. Non-actors are better than actors at being subjects. Harris Dickinson is a star. Could just be because I'm rewatching it in preperation for it's final season at the moment but lots of the ambient backing over shots of English housing estates and strong-willed kids reminded me of Brian Eno's soundscapes on 'Top Boy'. Favourite shot: the kids playing on the hill with the housing estate windows in the background - felt like Taiwanese New Wave framing, the camera as an observer only.

This was so well acted and the setting was captured lovingly. No grim sad grey council estates here. Each character was a film of their own, interesting and full of personality. A bit of suspense is built up here which keep the films engaging. The core is friendship, loyalty, fun and love.

I really liked this one, the kid actors are impressive and I thought it was an interesting and touching story about a dad who screwed up trying to be there for his daughter.

This movie will not preach you. It won't fall into cliches. It is just a glimpse of a troubled life. It shows you the only practical way to make up for your absence is to be there and the only way not to be alone is to let others in.

"Georgie" (Lola Campbell) ingeniously manages to hoodwink social services following the death of her mother, and so lives on her own and makes a living running an unique cycle recycling programme with her friend "Ali" (Ali Uzun) that keeps them in ready cash. One afternoon, a guy leaps the back fence and introduces himself as her absentee father "Jason" (Harris Dickinson). She wants nothing to do with him, but he's no quitter and over the next hour or so we see the pair gradually realise what they have been missing in the years they spent apart. There isn't really much jeopardy here but what there is, is chemistry, The young Campbell is hugely charismatic and her mischievous but decent characterisation of a latter day urchin is really quite engaging. It's also one of Dickinson's more characterful efforts too. He doesn't rely on his looks and his musculature - he is also delivering us an enjoyable performance to watch as their relationship evolves - and not always smoothly. The writing offers us a dialogue that comes across as genuine, funny and for a low-ish budget effort this really is well worth a watch. I saw it at the cinema, but I'm not sure you need that - television will do fine.
