A very chilling and effective mockumentary that has a decent story and slow build of suspense and tension. Usually with these films, telling a compelling and thoughtful narrative isn't the real focus but this film does that really well. Though the acting is a bit shaky, the production of it feels very authentic. Those grainy black and white photographs are so incredibly haunting and just uncomfortable to watch. It's even more enthralling with its strong political aspect, which I honestly didn't expect going in. It strikes a perfect balance between that and the horror aspect and I really like how it doesn’t feel forced. I fully recommend it.

Like a hanging judge working overtime: it tried hard. Another example of how found footage saved what would've been an otherwise mediocre movie. Once again, the only thing the actors are able to do successfully is to pull you out of the film. I will give the film credit, however, for its racism subplot.

I don't understand why it's rated so low, maybe people are mad of american society depictions in it ? Anyway, it's a good twist on the usual horror formula, there's some weak points [spoiler] aka the scene with the little girl [/spoiler] but overall a great experience !

Forget found footage. How about found photos?

If you have been on the Internet for a while, you may have seen or come across creepy or out-of-context photos that become disturbing when you learn the context behind them. It's either moments before disaster or the last moments of someone's life. More
