R.I.P.D. 2: Rise of the Damned

The first movie was very nice but this one is silly. Not worth your time. 2/10

Jeffrey Donovan stars in the supernatural action film _R.I.P.D. 2: Rise of the Damned_. When Sheriff Roy Pulsipher is killed during a train robbery, the R.I.P.D. recruits him to help return souls that have escaped from Hell. Donovan gives a good performance and is backed by a solid supporting cast. The mythology from the first film has been changed a little; making deados possessed people, and limiting the physical transformations they can make. Still, it keeps the same wry comedy and delivers some fun laughs. Also, the fight scenes are exciting, and there are some impressive special effects. However, the plot more or less just recycled the first film, repeating a lot of the same beats and jokes. _R.I.P.D. 2: Rise of the Damned_ is entertaining, but doesn’t really do anything new with the material.
