Return to Montauk sadly reminds us, as though it were necessary, that writers love to write about writers, and especially writers having affairs. It seems to me a good writer would at the very least have the decency to wax metaphoric rather than broadcast his fantasies directly onto the screen. This film is little more than a writer's puerile indulgence in his fantasies and should have been kept in his bed sheets and away from sheets of paper.

I gave it a watch because iv'e always loved the performances of Nina Moss. I don't think there is an actress in the world that can be so classy and beautifully melancholic at the same time....and again she doesn't disappoint in Return to Montauk. I could relate to the story as i have been in a similar situation in my own life that thankfully turned out far better than Max , Rebecca & Clara's. Ive always admired Stellan Skarsgard but he just seemed so miscast...maybe i missed the point and he was meant to be a glum old git with no personality. I think Rebecca got away with it :) Oh and the soundtrack is just beautiful.
