Timur Bekmambetov who produced "Unfriended" swears by "Computer screen PoV" movies only nowadays and chose a book about an investigation into ISIS recruitment techniques as the inspiration here. Said material lends itself surprisingly good for the scenario but I would hold my breath for this really becoming a thing. For anything filler they relied on having just a facetime app open which isn't that natural and there have been inconsistencies as to how the story is told technically [spoiler]playing recorded files of strarting the recordings as well as when being logged out of the current user[/spoiler]. Shazad Latif carries the movie and helps to distract from the more annoying Valene Kane. [spoiler]The reveal was also convenient as I'm certain that a reverse image search of that one photo of her she uploaded first would have busted her right away if it were real[/spoiler]
