Hot off the back of the first two episodes of the Apple TV show and the realisation that I'd not see the conclusion to this mystery until late, late July, I caved and watched the original 1990 adaptation of the book of the same name. Outside of the overt 90s misogyny (god it lays it on thick and heavy), this is just as gripping, just as enthralling and as twisty as I was hoping it would be. I think it shows its hand a little too easily in this adaptation, as I was able to call the finale quite quickly, and I hope the TV show obfuscates or even changes this entirely during their retelling. Harrison is great, I really need to get around to watching his 90s filmography and give him the credit he deserves, being known primarily for Han Solo when he's been throwing out these kinds of performances throughout his career must be pretty disheartening. If you can overlook some of the dated delivery methods, Presumed Innocent is a great courtroom thriller that I'm happy Apple brought to my attention. Interesting to compare and contract what makes the cut and what gets changed as the series progresses.
