This movie follows Porco Rosso, a cursed World War I pilot who works as a bounty hunter, battling sky pirates over the Adriatic Sea. The story explores Porco Rosso's past and the origin of his curse, as well as Fio's ambitions and the sky pirates' plans to outmanoeuvre Porco. It also highlights the conflict between Porco Rosso and Donald Curtis.

This is a light-hearted, fun movie filled with comical scenes and wholesome moments. The movie starts with Porco Rosso's adventure of fighting the pirates showing his pilot skills and intelligence. His relationship with Gina from childhood was good but not well explored to root for them to get together. His initial opposition to Fio's work on his plane, and then his surprise seeing a group of women working on his plane shows the mentality of men toward women back then.

Then he allows Fio after he acknowledges her passion and dedication towards her work. The main storyline is that Porsco Rosso gets defeated by Donald Curtis; Porco Rosso plans to teach him a lesson face-to-face. But the movie mostly revolves around getting planes ready for most of the movie. The movie returns to the storyline only in the last 30 minutes.

I watched it in English Dub, the voice acting was good as the characters are expressive. The animation and frames of landscapes and planes look good. The music was minimal.

In conclusion, I like the movie but it is not what I expected it to be. I suggest it if you like light-hearted, not story driven movie with some wholesome moments.
