There’s something special about _Pompo: The Cinephile_ that just speaks to you. Yes, the animation is stunning and you absolutely adore every character in the film. Martin Braddock’s pickup line about wanting to network socially is hilarious and Mystia is an incredible character; a talented actress that doesn’t let her success go to her head. But the animated film also speaks to both film and art lovers alike. Showing what was discarded in pursuit of your dreams is important to making a life changing film. Pompo’s sweet spot for a fully completed film is 90-minutes and _Pompo: The Cinephile_ ends maybe thirty seconds after that. This makes you feel good and creative at the same time and is exceptional because of it.

things i loved about this movie:
-all the creative transitions such as: the windshield wipers transition //
-when ever grandpa Pompo sees Gene and completely and absolutely butchers his name, as well as his entire identity, then the camera zooms and Gene just goes "'i'm Gene, one person"
-Gene in the bus seeing Nathalie through his own "angle" / "lens" so to say
-"editing room 3"
-when Gene opens the screenplay "Meister" that Pompo wrote and it cuts into half a screen, shows the time on his phone, then closes as he's done reading, very creative
-Nathalie's reaction to her getting her debut role; & right then and there followed by Gene's reaction to him being the director of this upcoming movie, hilarious
-the very first scene they shot together in Switzerland, Gene's reactions gave me actual goosebumps, Nathalie's presence and the way Martin completely SWITCHES and starts acting like a real professional
- // there were some incredible transitions in this movie, one of them being the paper bag that appears right on Mystia's face and it transitions to the kitchen with the movement and appearance of the second paper bag
-then the Gene transitioning from "film rolling" to the Switzerland hotel, as if a filter was dragged up and away
-the hourglass transition to show a flashback or change in time (to show the past), GROGEOUS.
-the fact that they won all those awards at the end was such a good way to end the movie, they very well deserved it too tbh (not like i actually watched the movie they made but you know what i mean), and when Gene's asked what his favorite part of the movie was and he answers:
**_"the fact that it's 90 minutes long"_**
then it cuts and the credits + ending song start playing, i check the length of the actual movie and find out it's 90 minutes long as well, that was a nice little touch

**i loved this movie so much**
