The theater employee only made fun of me a little for being white male seeing Pitch Perfect 3 by myself at 9:00am on Christmas eve. It was worth it to see more Anna Kendrick.
I liked it! I was going in with some doubt because I didn'#39;t really know what they were going to do to keep it '#34;fresh'#34;, but they did a great job! I loved the action that was included, and I laughed out loud quite a few times throughout the movie. I do feel like it'#39;s different from the first two movies, but the songs were great (I missed the big acapella mash-up though) and the cast was amazing as ever. I am going to miss these movies but I love rewatching them, so that'#39;s what I'#39;ll be doing from now on :-)

What did I just watch? Seriously this movie is not at all what I expected. The first act is pretty entertaining and sets up an interesting premise where the Bella’s have to compete with real bands using instruments. This plot is almost completely abandoned however when the movie decides to become an action movie with a hostage situation. There is a severe tonal problem with this movie but I can’t say I didn’t have fun with certain aspects and scenes. This movie will probably satisfy Pitch Perfect super fans but doesn’t offer much other than “what if Pitch Perfect was John Wick?”. This film has no where near the fun or heart of the previous instalments and I wouldn’t seek it out but it’s not without merit either.
Second verse! Same as the first!!...My names John Jacob Jingle Heimer Schmidt!!!!...his is my name tooooooooooo ppphhhffrrrrttt!!!!
I really enjoyed this movie. The Bellas are funny, awkward, super talented. I'#39;m glad they have their happy ending. I will never forget the '#34;You can talk?'#34; part. LOL It was so great to hear Esther voice.
Soo cringeworthy. It'#39;s corny, over-the-top and eyerolling. I don'#39;t know why I bothered. They should'#39;ve stopped at the first one. Lithgow was a nice addition, but it suffers from losing Adam Devine.
what a letdown. i feel they came back, to just come back? heres hoping the 4th and 5th are better
If you had 1 and 2 and cut them into pieces and then added some rich guy with a big explosion you'#39;d have this weird mess.
Would have been a 7 but Fat Amy. My god. Every scene in which she was the focus made the movie worse. Other than that, it was a fitting end to the trilogy, although the music wasn'#39;t quite as good as the previous entries.
Thumbs Up Good Great It’s Glad Perfect
Its quiet terrible! I should give it a lower rating but the actual music part I still like. But I hate like, every main girl's plot in this movie. All of Beca's previous goals and characterization are thrown out to take her in a totally different direction in this one and I hate that. I dont like the Fat Amy's dad stuff, which is the focus of the movie. Only Aubrey's subplot makes any sense really and its a small part of the movie. And Emily is just there to tick that box so that sucks.
Watching this right after the first two made me realize that there is a noticeable drop from 2 to 3, but this one is still darn good. If you are a fan of the others, you will certainly enjoy this one. If you aren't a fan of the others, this one does not do anything new to rope you in. Rating: 3.5/5 - 80% - Would Recommend
The only pitch perfect in this is its name.
Third time watching this. Loved the first showing at Christmas in the cinema. Fat Amy is a badass and that whole plot made the film. I went into it expecting pitch perfect and left with some pitch perfect but a pretty good action movie at the end! Those fight scenes were epic.
At least the first two were somewhat believable. This one was just over the top.. The music is good though..

This was such an "aca-disappointment"! If you came back for the laughs, the sassy characters, the anti-stereotypes and the music, be prepared to be completely disappointed. The plot is a mess: you'd think it will actually have anything to do with Pitch Perfect 1 and 2, but it doesn't. Sure, it could be because the Bellas are now graduated working women going near their 30s, but this isn't the reason. The reason is that this movie has very little to do with singing in general, songs (which are now full covers and not cleverly mixed songs) being just a sad garnishment for a plot that doesn't know where the focus should be. Oh, you think the main thing about the movie is a-capella vs instruments? Nope, it isn't. Oh, wait, could it be that this movie is about the Bellas moving on from their a-capella group? Well, it could have been, if only the entire plot wasn't taken over by
Fat Amy's evil dad
! Pitch Perfect 3 is full of moments that show the movie is clearly set in an alternate reality where everyone hates a-capella groups (or at least the Bellas), as they are considered worse than a full-instruments band by default. Also what is the point of introducing like three bands that should compete against each other for DJ Khaled's attention (he is considered a good musician in this alt. universe, I know right?!) if you are not gonna show them actually COMPETING? I'm not trying to say that the whole
Fat Amy revealing herself to be the tough daughter of an evil mastermind
wasn't funny! It was, and so was
that sort of Taken parody fight between Fat Amy and his dad's goons on the yacht
, but it felt too much like I was being sidetracked by the main focus (or at least what have should have been) of the movie: the competition! Oh, and soooo many wtf moments and weird dialogues... A franchise ruined forever and totally not worth watching!

Okay, so, this movie was kinda disappointing. It was funny and the songs and singing were great, but it missed the essence of pitch perfect. It wasn't about a school singing group, it was not even about a friend group overcoming problems (or just being there for each other). They were even rude to some group members. Might have been written as funny, but they failed and made it insensitive and not like the great friend group the bellas are (or are supposed to be). Some lines were insensitive or just weird. The plot was kinda stupid and more like a cheap action than a comedy/musical (it made me think that they wrote it like this so they could make an exciting trailer which implies the Bellas become spies or something) It was a Rebel Wilson show from like halfway the movie and the storyline was gone. It was like they wrote a movie but changed their plan completely and just rolled with it. Or they wrote two movies af thought it would fit in to one. Enjoyable to watch tho, but not recommended as your first pitch perfect. Just start at the beginning and see where you strand. Oh my god I only realized halfway the movie that Matt Lanter (from the TV show timeless) is in it, I love him. _Rating: 6.2/10_ _Posted: 12 sept. 2019_ _Updated 13 sept. 2019_

My review may seem confusing to begin with but bear with me cause my enjoyment of this film and whether I think this film is very cohesive and well written are two completely different things. The run time is just over 90 minutes which I think is a great length of time for this type of film as it packs in everything it needs and doesn't drag things out. Let's start off with the positives: I think this film did a really good job with song choice, we got songs that were very popular at the time but songs that I feel weren't as popular which was nice to see, the arrangements were also super neat and seamless which made for good listening. The acting was overall good with the slight comedic value that I've grown to love from this group of girls. I definitely think these are roles that will stick out to me amongst these actresses careers. The cinematography was once again really good though there wasn't anything super special here, there was a nice range of shots and none of the transitions between them were too jarring which made for nice easy watching. Now for the not so good things: I do personally think this one has the weakest story out of the three. Despite it being a film within a well-known comedy franchise they tried so hard to make it into an action movie with the whole random thing and I just don't think it works. I'm all for trying out new things but this felt jarring and like it was shoved in at the last minute to extend the movies run time. Not that this is an overall bad thing but I could see the way that things would end with Beca from the moment they announced the competition, I'm not completely mad about this because I think it works just fine I just thought I'd mention it. The last thing I thought I'd mention is the absence of Ben Platt and Skylar Astin in this movie and Benji and Jesse. I get that there were probably reasons for this behind the scenes. I understand that the movie is focusing on the Bella's after leaving university but Benji and Jesse were the love interests of two of our characters. Jesse was somewhat explained away with the long distance thing but I don't understand why there wasn't at least a reason provided for why Benji seemingly no longer speaks to Emily, especially after the scene near the end of the 2nd movie. This is overall decent despite it's faults and serves as a somewhat satisfying conclusion to the franchise.

First of all, I just went to watch this because I've seen the other two, which I kind of enjoyed, but I didn't have much expectation when I went to see this. And I was still disappointed. I felt like the plot was very weak and I was confused about what they were doing most of the time. There was plenty of singing and dancing, obviously, which was good for the most part. But it wasn't as good as the other films. Probably my biggest complaint would be about Fat Amy and her dad. Now, John Lithgow is a great actor in my opinion, but as an Australian, I was a big taken aback when he was cast as an Australian. His Aussie accent was hit and miss and after the movie all I was thinking was the possible Australian actors that could've been cast in his place. John Jarratt comes to mind (joke). Also, why do people keep casting Ruby Rose. No offence, but she just can't act. And she did an American accent in this so that was a bit weird as well. Overall, I wasn't expecting much from this movie and I got what I expected. I'm probably glad they're not making these movies anymore. I give it a low score for the lack of plot and it just felt like the same movie but worse.

Almost poor, but <em>'Pitch Perfect 3'</em> has just enough about it to avoid it being a chore to sit through. I didn't enjoy it, it's definitely the weakest of the series. With that said, there is somehow still narrowly enough there to stop it becoming bad - just. The shorter run time helps, while the musical numbers are a step up on <em>'Pitch Perfect 2'</em> in my opinion; the <em>Toxic</em> end is fun. Anna Kendrick (Beca) and Rebel Wilson (Fat Amy) remain the pick of the onscreen talent. None of the other regulars stand out, nor do any of the newcomers - though it's always cool to see John Lithgow (Fergus), albeit with a dodgy accent, while <em>'Timeless'</em> star Matt Lanter (Chicago) also appears. The plot is very lame, yet I honestly didn't dislike it - almost, but not quite.
