A widowed farmer and his son warily take in a mysterious, injured man with a satchel of cash. When a posse of men claiming to be the law come for the money, the farmer must decide who to trust. [spoiler] "You have no idea of the hailstorm that you facing to let loose." [/spoiler] I've always love western. A genre that is sadly about dead in cinema. This one is a slow burner with a great payoff at the end.

There is a simplicity to Old Henry's traditional Western production that is comforting and engaging. A movie that treads well within the lines of its genre, but does so with such finesse that it feels perfectly realised and rewarding in its linearity. Such a simple narrative allows Tim Blake Nelson to bring his A game, delivering nearly all of his performance as the titular Henry with a simple squint of the eyes or stomp of the boot. I didn't expect to enjoy this one as much as I did, but here we are. An overlooked contemporary Western gem.

Very good movie, well worth the watch. Not fast action but some excellent acting and a good story line. Very believable and makes you feel as if you're there.

Really good westerns are really thin on the ground these days. This has become an instant favorite of mine, both for the intelligent (though admittedly fanciful) plot, as well as for the gritty acting by the ensemble cast.

This is a slow burner, building up to its explosive ending. I can’t help More
