Wow. This was a lot better than what I was expecting. It'#39;s not the greatest movie ever, but a ton of fun for sure, and brings back a good amount of the charm of the original movie. Blows the sequels out of the water for sure.
It'#39;s a fine movie but nothing special. It is entertaining and the all star cast is a lot of fun. I love Cate Blanchett and Anne Hathaway. The heist was ok but it felt like it could of been bigger and done better. I don'#39;t get all the hate on an all female cast. It'#39;s fun to see something different and I would rather have this than an Ocean'#39;s 14. I would watch an Ocean'#39;s 9 and 10.
Fun and entertaining movie that left me with a smile. Anne Hathaway absolutely knocks it out of the park in the film and is the best thing in the film. This movie makes for a good addition to the Ocean'#39;s franchise.
See this movie! It'#39;s clever. It has the unexpected. It'#39;s funny (but it is a dry, clever wit, and although I was sitting there chuckling away, a lot of the audience were missing a lot of the quick witted humour). The women gave excellent performances. The plot had a B line that isn'#39;t revealed until later, so pay attention. I give this film an 8 (appropriately so, and great) out of 10. [Heist film]
this was so bloody good i think i ascended onto a higher plane
WOW, what a total SJW BS. Why is Hollywood insisting on this, in trying to rewrite history with their feminist BS. What'#39;s worse, is that they do a great disservice to women, as if they can'#39;t have all original stories, original blockbuster movies, but they end up having to ride the coattails of men. Leftist logic at its best.
Actually fell asleep in the theater. An altogether boring plot and I felt Sandra Bullock did a particularly poor job acting. The movie might have had more success if it wasn'#39;t attached to the Ocean'#39;s franchise.
The third act is quite all right, but the two preceding it are rocky. Also, it’s too plot driven, which results in a lack of character development, and by extension, a lack of engagement with the movie as a whole. I really wonder why they decided to draw so much attention to the plot, especially when the plot is so flat and paint by numbers. 4.5/10

Did not like it. I guess it will go well with star stricken audience that watches movies just because a movie star that they like is in it. For me it is a bad movie. Bad characters (after watching the movie ask yourself what did you actually learn about lead characters. Not two rows worth of character development and also almost no interaction between them). Bad heist plot (multiple plot holes and inconsistencies: *SPOILERS* they drag Ann to toilet so they can steal the necklace and then act that they found it somewhere else because it slipped although it was pointed out that it can not slip since you need magnetic key to remove it, or at least wouldn't it be easier just to give her the fake necklace in the toilet saying that it fell. Also later they drove off with the rest of the diamonds while the place was in lockdown by "best security team in the world" that just accepts "oh, look what i found in the pool" explanation... Not to mention the movie is caled Ocean's Eight but there were seven women in a group which made Ann Hathaway's reveal at the end not so much of a shock, more of a meh. There are many more plot holes but it would take longer to read them than to watch this movie. About SJW in the movie they managed to cover all "the colors of Benetton", Also it is marketed as a movie about an "All women's heist team", but in the end they have a male in a team, but I guess he doesn't count and doesn't deserve an equal part of the loot. Constance swiped one necklace and gets 38 million, but the guy that collected all the rest gets a tap on the shoulder, and no credit.

wow. thist was unexpected. this movie is greaT!!!. if you love oceans and have nothing against women. then youre gonna have a blast. it manages not to be a re-hash of the original. it REMINDS you of the original. and adds its feminist touch. the performances are mostly great. and rihanna of alll people.... believable performances!!! the presentation cinematography. all top notch. there is an ocean tag on the movie. so yes. there will be some automatic comparisons with the movie. and it just barely does not live up to the original. but its right there. what it lacks is a bit chemistry. and some of the lovely ladies are underused. mindy kaling especially. she is underused!! . could have been better. but wont dissapoint for sure. im going to see o11,12,13 all over again now. there was also a tiny issue where
it just seemed weird that danny ocean(george clooney) is dead and now her sister is mourning her
. the thing is she is added later in writing and its difficult to believe it and u simply miss george clooney there are some genuine twists of the "oceans" standard. it will be like . HAHA GOTCHA. its cute. and you can just have fun in that. will repeat, all performances are superb and movie is watchable alone for that. the writing is smart. music is perfect. hate to bring up that movie. but this is not a Ghostbusters 2016 nonsense which ive read somewhere. this is a great movie. and ghostbusters 2016 was a disaster. please go watch in theatres!! we need to support such films with ensemble cast and fun themes. ocean's 9!!!

Ocean's Eight has been my comfort movie for the longest time. I adore the strength of the cast, and the dynamics they possess as a whole, not to mention the brilliant cinematography. The humour and the relationships of the characters brings a sense of lightheartedness to the movie, which I personally adore. Overall, it's a very underappreciated movie in terms of the writing, casting and cinematography, as well as the costume and makeup departments.
They tried to do the Ghostbusters thing with this one didn't they? No, not the all female cast thing, which I guess they did try and do, but really I mean the "if you don't like this movie, we're going to threaten you with horrible labels" thing. And the result are cautionary reviews that all kind of sound as if the people are too afraid to call it boring...so they are going to point out the one decent performance in the film. But even then, you got the feeling that some of the cast wasn't really into threatening the audience to like the movie. Watching the interviews, you got the feeling that, yeah, they knew it was boring. Only one or two of them looked really prepared to be combative about forcing the public to love it. Meanwhile, this is a heist film, you are supposed to have comedy or action and in many cases both...and at least they tried for comedy in jokes that didn't entirely land. In fact, for the most part, the attempts at humor left you with a "meh" feeling at best. You can see where its supposed to be a laugh but it doesn't even really turn a cheek in the right direction. And then the action was all under cooked. So you're left with a story about a woman that is going to double cross the Oceans team, has the opportunity to do it, but then doesn't at the last minute for...reasons that are never really explained.

Good stuff, this. I really enjoyed <em>'Ocean’s Eight'</em>. It's a sizeable drop off from the great <em>'Ocean's Eleven'</em>, but I actually - just narrowly - enjoyed it more than <em>'Ocean's Twelve'</em> and <em>'Ocean's Thirteen'</em>. With this 2018 film, they got a lot right. The pacing, but also the casting. It's nice to have Sandra Bullock (Debbie) return just to keep the continuity going, that as well as the fact that she's very good in this. I rate her as an actress, but sometimes I find her performances irritating - here, the complete opposite, I love how charismatic and confident she plays Debbie. Cate Blanchett (Lou) supports her well, too. The rest of the cast are strong choices. I enjoyed seeing Rihanna and Awkwafina, along with Sarah Paulson, Mindy Kaling and Anne Hathaway. James Cordon appears too, he seems to split opinion but I like him. The plot is good, very watchable. I found myself questioning one moment of the nitty-gritty event, but otherwise I thoroughly enjoyed seeing it unfold. I also liked the editing around it. The ending isn't the greatest, but still more than satisfactory.
