At the end of the day, Memory (2022) is merely another of those 'well-meaning' and 'well-spoken' star playing at lawmaker outings that is professionally assembled on the surface but shoots only blanks. The pressing fact it could have been actually far worse and shillier without a crusty old trade veteran hand at the reins like Martin Campbell doesn't make it a good or even somewhat worthwhile film.

One reason this is NOT a good film is that 'William Neeson' is getting long in the tooth......although he strives for authenticity and even makes something of a landing in turn, he is never able to shake off the vibe of loony IRA sympathizer/terrorism fanatic that has plagued him throughout his career (notably here, too). His character of Alex as written is unable to bring about the sort of hardened tough guy impact that's going to shake up this Mexican community for the better and is only really set up to be a tired old martyr. 'Guy Pearce' is even more bleh......I'm convinced above all else he was brought on because Mexican authorities in league with certain evil actually believe in some kind of younger incarnation of somebody like Jonathan Voight, what horseshit. Those are dumb manchildren then, their loss. Don't even get me started on the callow Bellucci frog, who's real motive in it is to have themselves mutilated/fatally gored as well.......

In shortened terms: Mexico, that is Mexico under the thumb of profuse orcy sinners who ultimately answer only to the deranged state of California rather than run-down ol' senile Mexico itself, turns out to fling nothing but injustice and no real results from an authority standpoint? Last century's news. As such, this isn't really worth watching as anything but a stale bread reminder of how certain areas' leadership on this western continent have zero clue how to clean up matters, to evolve. Bolivia/Toronto/etc. all over again ad nauseum. Meh!
