It's completely asinine, silly, and juvenile. So, exactly what you'd expect from this kind of movie. Also, it's kind of fun to watch. Probably helps to be not at full mental capacity for it. Would have given it a 7 if it hadn't been for the terrible "moral of the story", every character behaved horribly – and Stan Lee's character? Man, you don't
give someone such horrible advice even if you're put up to it as a joke, that's just mean
!

After the success of "Clerks", Kevin Smith had a real budget at his disposal for the first time with "Mallrats" and it shows. The film is professionally shot and has a much larger (and, from today's perspective, more prominent) cast. Some of the strengths of his debut feature are also still present, namely the sometimes clever dialogue and Smith's juvenile sense of humor. Still, "Mallrats" doesn't quite measure up to "Clerks" for me. Too many jokes don't work this time. Furthermore, the sometimes lousy acting is too distracting this time (especially Michael Rooker is awful). On top of that, the film is sometimes just too silly for me, even if the entertainment factor still prevails in the end. That Smith's second film also has problematic parts, especially in terms of language, is certainly due to the era in which it was made. But I'm willing to overlook that, which is why it's one of the highlights of the director's filmography for me.

Only the second time seeing this (last was probably in the early 2000s on DVD) and thought it was okay but guess like others, this has grown on me. Laughed throughout even when the dialogue wasn't the greatest, but I have an appreciation for sarcasm so I gravitated towards Jason Lee's character the More

**A comedy full of absurd jokes, which could work better if they weren't so aimed at niche audiences that most people don't really belong to.**

From the same hand that gave us “Clerks” (director and screenwriter Kevin Smith) came this bizarre comedy, centered on two teenagers who have just lo More

When two best friends TS Quint (Jeremy London) and Brodie (Jason Lee) are both dumped by their girlfriends they seek comfort at the local mall.

Kevin Smith has a type of humour that some people love, and some people hate. To me, this is a pretty funny movie but not overly hilarious. You can kind More
