It was a nice movie. Nothing special, but Anne and Jake are both great.

boobs.

OMG !!!!!!!!!!! Beautiful movie i Like that very mutch

Totally watched this movie because Jake is hella gorgeous here! and I wasn'#39;t disappointed at all! the dude is so good-looking it'#39;s almost unreal ;)

Jake Gyllenhaal and Anne Hathaway'#39;s chemistry is probably my favourite thing about this movie. Hope to see them acting alongside each other again in the future!

Good movie worths a watch especially for acting perfomances from Jake and Anne.Nothing special here though :)

anne hathaway and jake gyllenhaal are always amazing and in this movie is not different

this could have been good but was filled with so many cheap feels.

nothing special, but so nice

Based on the book 'Hard Sell is a lovely, charming film that blends rom-com with seriousness. Mature romance stands out, though tonal shifts aren't always seamless. Still a worthwhile watch for the leads! Charming pharma rep falls for a woman with early-onset Parkinson's. Love is there but a person doesn't want to be burdened on the other, full of emotions. The situations though little ott but keeps you hooked however the pharma backdrop feels a bit separate. Gyllenhaal is good, but Anne Hathaway, you girl, you superstar. Hell of a performance. Emotions oozing out of her eyes, her body showing her sickness was nuanced. Their on-screen connection and chemistry is the heart of the film.

the intimate scenes between Anna and Jake were on another level. I really loved them together. ~foadzantor@gmail.com

I love a good romantic comedy, and I appreciate how this one tried to shine a light on Parkinson’s disease. But the plot was basic, the jokes not that funny, and the ending felt like he was making some kind of sacrifice to be with her. No apology for how he behaved before, how he walked away. Not my favorite. Plus, the more I think about it, did Pfizer pay for this movie?

The movie is quite good, the extending in the sexual content isn't helpful and it's just a filler, the relation between Jamie and Maggie is beautiful especially in the (i want you but i will hurt you ) part an overall 7 out of 10 but it could've been better.

I don’t think there’s a single person who will be surprised that this movie was written by three men with not a single woman involved in the process of making it. After all, only a man would think Jamie is cool or charming, or think that these horrendous tricks are a good way to pick up girls rather than having them earn you continuous slaps in the face. And genuinely do not even get me started on the way every single woman is represented, seen or used like a sex object in this movie because it genuinely makes my eye twitch uncontrolably. The trillion amount of sex scenes and jokes were also just… so tiring. Truly, this movie is literally the embodiment of the ick. The only good thing about it is the presence of Anne Hathaway. That’s it.

Just another pixie girl having to be the mom/therapist for his partner. But give her Parkinson and make it her whole personality and at the same time make it irrelevant. They didn't care about Parkinson (the whole convention scene was very nice, but that's the only honesty we saw about it), the just wanted a random disease to give Maggie a reason to be unattainable, cynical and aloof. Also, how was she paying for all those meds? She was an artist, but we never see her selling her work? She didn't seem to struggle a lot to pay for her meds.
Yes, there are the trips to Canada, but????
This movie was weak, it lacked courage to make a bold statement against the predatory ways of pharmaceutical and health care industry. It didn't even want to go near there, and so we're left with a lot of questions about Maggie.

Imagine a regular guy falling in love with a girl who has an incurable disease. The story follows Jamie Randall, a charming and carefree pharmaceutical salesman who lands a job at Pfizer, selling Viagra. There, he meets Maggie, a smart and beautiful woman. What starts as a casual relationship soon evolves into a deep emotional connection. However, things become more complicated when Maggie is diagnosed with a degenerative disease. The film explores themes like love, vulnerability, and the emotional and physical challenges that come with illness. It deals with these sensitive topics using a light comedic tone, creating a balance between humor and heartfelt emotion. The acting is fantastic—both leads deliver convincing performances, capturing the emotion, conflict, and chemistry between them. Maggie’s reluctance to commit due to her illness adds depth to the story. The comedy is genuinely effective—this is one of the few films where I laughed out loud more than five times. The way the film portrays the impact of chronic illness on relationships is both touching and thought-provoking. Age rating: +18 Movie rating: 7.5/10

If there was an option for 0/10, I would give it.

Favourite line: Sometimes, the thing you want most doesn't happen. And sometimes, the thing you never expect does. Like giving up my job in Chicago and everything and deciding to stay and apply to med school. I don't know. You meet thousands of people and none of them really touch you. And then you meet one person and your life is changed forever.

'gt;'#34;It'#39;s not a disease, it'#39;s a Russian novel.'#34; I watched this movie only because it had Jake and Anne in it. I had no idea it was going to be about a charmer who is in the '#34;cutthroat world of pharmaceutical sales.'#34; This movie had a few moments that made me laugh, and Jake and Anne look good together.

Wasn'#39;t a huge fan of this movie, it'#39;s not terrible mostly only enjoyable cause of Gyllenhaal and Hathaway but felt kinda cheesy or cheap probably better for people who are really into romantic films or just hopeless romantics not for me.

Not a big fan of Hathaway but she's adorable in this one.

Did love this icl, was an obsession for a week then got over it.

I understand that I'm in a minority here, but I found that the egregious titillation in this movie clashed with the heartfelt and serious takeaway of it all. No, nudity is not inherently bad and it serves its purpose just fine in many other movies; I just don't believe it belonged in this one, especially to such an extent. I can think of two other recent films I watched where I was actually surprised there was no true nudity involved, just "smart shots" that captured the point perfectly well without. I suppose there's the argument that "boobs" shouldn't detract from a film, but I counter that they also shouldn't simply add to one. I would want people to be interested in my work because they heard it was good, not because they heard it had Anne Hathaway's tits (nudity in general) in it. I myself like tits and I agree that Anne is really beautiful, both naked and not, but that on its own being good doesn't make it (nudity) good for just any movie. It made for two very different tones and they just didn't mesh well for me in this instance. If they'd been able to blend that kind of raunchy comedy into the heartfelt drama better somehow, I imagine I might have given this a 7 or 8. That said, a standing ovation for both Jake and Anne. They were brilliant together!

On the surface, Love & Other Drugs appears to be a typical romantic comedy that follows the tried-and-true formula of a ladies' man, Jamie (played by Jake Gyllenhaal), falling in love with his latest hookup, Maggie (played by Anne Hathaway). However, what sets this movie apart from its contemporaries is its poignant exploration of Maggie's struggle with Parkinson's disease. The movie can be divided into two halves: the first is a typical rom-com, complete with witty banter and charming flirtations between Jamie and Maggie. However, midway through the film, the tone takes a dramatic shift as the focus shifts to Maggie's struggles with her illness. The movie becomes intimate and shockingly raw as Jamie tries to cope with the future struggles he and Maggie will face together, while simultaneously portraying Maggie's struggle to let someone in and take care of her. This story really works and brought tears to my eyes near the end. While the direction is pretty bland and lacks any real sense of style, the performances are strong. Both Hathaway and Gyllenhaal have excellent chemistry and play off each other perfectly. However, the real standout performance comes from Josh Gad, whose comedic timing is brilliant and whose scenes had me laughing out loud. One aspect of the movie that detracts from its overall impact is the excessive use of nudity. Hathaway is shown topless in almost every scene, to the point where it feels quite predatory. While I am not sure if the choice to include this excessive nudity was made by the director or writing team, its frequency detracts from the intimacy of the characters' interactions and feels quite gratuitous. Overall, Love & Other Drugs is a solid romantic comedy that attempts to do something a little different, which I can definitely appreciate. Its exploration of illness and its effects on relationships adds a layer of depth and emotion that the typical rom-com formula usually lacks. Score: 70% 👍 Verdict: Good
