I really love this movie. indeed it'#39;s about Life Itself. I cry so much. thank you for this beautiful movie.

I spend a fair amount of times researching movies to watch and this one really stuck out because of the gigantic difference between what the critics thought of the film and the audience rating. I almost always side with the critics… until I don’t. This film had a ton of heart and in the end was extremely endearing. I love the way the film transitioned from one “scene” to the next and then was tied up at the end in a way that I should have seen coming but did not. follow me at https://IHateBadMovies.com

The film reaches for great significance, but is only partly successful. However, it is a very well made film, and while it won'#39;t be an enduring classic, the film is still emotionally resonant and occasionally quite beautiful. Forget the negative critical response then, and go into the film with an open mind and heart.

This movie is episodic. Some of it I loved, some of it was pure garbage. Can I just have the full movie with Olivia Wilde and Oscar Isaac please?

This movie starts with Samuel L Jackson talking, and talking. I was tired of him talking and turned it off!

Spoilers

Good acting, but not very touching which is what I think they were going for. The twist was so contrived and not clever. I didn’t see the point. The unreliable narrator was a cool concept though.

I really don’t get why people don’t like this movie. It’s one of the best things I have ever seen.

Really enjoyed the stories as they weave and intertwine.

While I thought this movie was good, I find it unlikely that I will ever watch it again. Without giving away any plot points, I will just say that the chapters are a bit uneven. I found the slowest chapter of the film took the most time to get through. While the entire was great and the movie was heartfelt, the lag time around the middle will keep me from a rewatch.

I almost didn'#39;t stay around for the good parts of this movie. The movie is divided into 5 chapters. The first two are manic and belabour its titular theme '#34;the most unreliable narrator is life itself'#34;. If you are a big fan of Oscar Isaac (I am not) you may fare better in these opening chapters than I did. But, then it settles into some really beautiful moments. I was drawn to the movie by it being penned (and directed) by the writer (and producer) of THIS IS US, Dan Fogelman. The spectacular cast made me hold course. And the wonderful moments made it all worth while. All throughout the movie are reoccurring strains of a song that transform as the movie moves, making a wonderful, and inobtrusive, passageway for thought, emotion and theme. If the first two chapters hadn'#39;t been such hard work, I would rate this movie a 9 (superb) but because of the uneven, jarring transitions, I will rate this a 7.5 (wonderful moments) out of 10. I really came here to comment to inform you that 2018 still makes amazing movies! This grabs you. It'#39;s not action packed, it'#39;s not a chick flick either, it is emotional, but also very real at the same time. I would highly recommend this if you can see movies beyond the classic blockbuster. I'#39;d say it'#39;s indie and very good at it, but the acting of the personas is just too good to be indie. If you like life and the meaning behind it, if you like love and tragedies at the same time, watch it.

This is a confusing one for me. First off, it is 100% the Hostel of Grief Porn. Hands down. The beats this movie hits you with are absolutely insane. I mean, insane. Just one bummer after another like the filmmaker is trying to make a greatest hits of bummers. It'#39;s laughable stuff. But....BUT....I cried for the last five minutes. Ugly cried. So did I like the movie?! I really can'#39;t say I did. It'#39;s not good. And it ends with one of my most hated cliches...But then theres all that crying. I just don'#39;t know. Wait wait wait wait wait. I take that back. Spoiler time. Spoiler time. So did Rigo eventually tell Dylan that at that exact street corner they meet he was the reason her mom died?!?!? Whoa whoa whoa whoa. This movie is CRAZY.

I don'#39;t know if I'#39;m just not poetic enough, but I gave up on this one like 10 minutes in.

To be honest, this film is a mess. As a whole, the chapters the film splits off into feel disjointed. I wish I could'#39;ve just watched a film with Oscar Isaac, Olivia Wilde, and Mandy Patinkin. But instead, the approach to it all, tries too hard. I can see why this film received horrible reviews.

This Is Us creator Dan Fogelman wrote and directed this tear-jerking rom-dram, which looks eerily familiar to the NBC series, give or take a couple A-list cast members (Olivia Wilde, Oscar Isaac, Annette Bening, Mandy Patinkin, Antonio Banderas … breathe). Like Us, the film pulses between the characters’ mysteriously interconnected narratives, which are set between N.Y.C. and Spain

I enjoyed this movie. At times it felt like it was trying to say too much, but still it succeeds in saying a lot of it. I don't think this movie is as bad nor as good as some of the reviews I read before watching it. One negative for me is how many large themes and issues the writing takes on with its complex plot, but conversely, one of its strengths is all of the large themes and issues the movie tackles. In other words, when it works, it really works. There are a lot of sympathetic characters in this saga, and even the few less sympathetic ones are given depth and the opportunity for personal growth during the course of the movie. It seems like interesting choices were made when to translate the Spanish dialogue and when not to, but I don't feel I missed out on important stuff. I think I will watch it again someday just to draw more out of it, catch little things I probably missed, so I guess that means I recommend watching it, doesn't it?
