So begins the '#34;comedy action'#34; lethal weapon..

A good addition to the franchise, but you know that the writing is on the wall when they introduce a baby to the marriage, or in this case Joe Pesci. I love the guy, and enjoy him, but it felt like he was used as filler.

I got back from the theater and this is starting on tv! Every time any of the Lethal Weapon films pass on tv I just can'#39;t resist. Is stronger than me! I'#39;ve seen them all a thousand times and I never get tired. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are my favorite buddy cop team in cinema, they will always be! Their chemistry are absolutely amazing! And Joe Pesci always hilarious every single time. For me the Lethal Weapon films are my childhood, I thank to my parents for letting a 8/9 year old children watch this kind of action films with them. I will always feel a special affection for all the four. They might not be perfect but for me they definitely are a part of the reason why the love for cinema started to grow inside of me even at that age.

Ok you can watch once but no repeat viewings

"We can't shoot a dog. People? Okay, but not dogs." Lethal Weapon 3 is such a solid movie for a third entry into a franchise. We still get the great banter, one-liners, chemistry and it really helps that Lethal Weapon keeps bringing back everyone. And they even add Rene Russo. She is bad ass. I loved her kicking ass, especially in the warehouse. Anyway we get Leo Getz selling houses, the ice-hockey game scene, Murtaugh and Riggs as patrolmen, explosions, saving a kitty cat, termites, car chases, Murtaugh sitting in a bad again surrounded by family, still no retirement party and still amazing chemistry between Glover and Gibson. I think I have seen 3 and 4 the least of this franchise because in the back of my mind I didn't really enjoy these back in the day. But I'm glad I was wrong, Lethal Weapon 3 is fun. Can't wait to see the fourth one again.

Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) – Review Rating: 8/10 For the past few days, I’ve been watching both the Lethal Weapon and Bad Boys series. They're both buddy cop franchises but with different tones — and both are enjoyable. Of course, Lethal Weapon is different: more activist, more socially aware in many ways. This was another really good movie. Leo Getz returns and basically sacrifices himself in a way. The running-on-ice scene was really cool. I recognized the woman (the captain or whatever she is), but I can't remember from where. Time has passed, the characters have aged, and a lot has changed — like his son, who now has a suspicious friend. Also, why didn’t we see the dog this time? And once again, they just happen to stumble into the bad guys. In the first movie it was a suicide aftewards, in the second a street chase afterwards— now again, a random situation turns into a huge crime case. Same type of chase scenes too: wrong turns, crashes, chaos. But still, a great entry in the series.

The third part looses a bit of steam, but not too much. I find that the Joe Pesci character is mostly unnerving, though overall, it is again great entertainment.

The playful tone and bombastic action made the success of “Lethal Weapon 2”, but here they definitely went a bit too far. Cheesy and flimsy to obnoxious levels, the humor grows old fast, and except a couple of funny scenes and the bombastic opening, the magic is dead and gone. The story doesn’t even matter, it’s just a long series of skits. I can’t believe this came from the same guy who wrote “Lethal Weapon 2”. Leo Gets shouldn’t have been here, the villains are plain boring, and Lorna just didn’t feel right. Riggs has always been insane, this time they turned him into some kind of weirdo that speaks dog language and eats bone cookies. I appreciated that they filled it with references and inside jokes from the first two films, though.

An action comedy without being bad, unlike the fourth one. That is about as fun and entertaining as the second, just not as good.

Six days to retirement, what could go wrong? Lethal Weapon 3 is a lighthearted action film that’s lost the edginess that made the series so compelling and original. In this installment Riggs and Murtaugh get busted down to patrolmen and accidentally stumble onto a gun smuggling operation. Glover and Gibson are true to form, and Joe Pesci is back to offer his usual comedic relief. But the addition of Rene Russo really drags down the film; her character seems forced and doesn’t feel authentic. However, Richard Donner delivers on the action once again, making for some fun and excitement. Still, Lethal Weapon 3 takes the series into generic action film territory and loses its distinctiveness.

This still holds up, much better than LW4. Mel Gibson'#39;s faux ponytail is insane and it wouldn'#39;t be a LW movie without some good old fashioned gay panic. Other than that, an effective and fun action comedy.

This movie is a master class on how you have to earn things in movies when it comes to emotions. Apart from the fact that the script is ridiculous, LW3 tries to envoke emotions for Roger killing this boy and the whole movie crumbles under it. His reaction is completely over the top. Falling into a alcoholic depression?! Nope, for the viewers to have some kind of emotion this has to be earned. Darryl‘s character just came out of nowhere. Nick is not even close to him. He is a gang member, heavily armed, shooting at our two protagonists. I think his screen time before he got shot was not even 30 seconds. Then Roger shoots him in self defense and we are supposed to believe that puts him into a depression where he can‘t go home anymore? That‘s a house built on stilts.

Funny and entertaining action movie for which you do not need to use your brain. Its a nice addition to the franchise, however there is not much to compel you to watch it a second or a third time because there is nothing outstanding about it. Don'#39;t get me wrong, if you want to have 2 hours of fun and have a laugh or two, you cannot go wrong with Leathal Weapon 3, but there is just that special something missing that would make this a great movie, you know?!

The saga continues to decline in quality.

With barely more than a week to go until “Murtaugh” (Danny Glover) retires, he and his now uniformed (and pony-tailed) partner “Riggs” (Mel Gibson) thwart an armoured car robbery and arrest the culprit. Before he can be rigorously interrogated, though, his brains get splattered against the walls of the interview room and our intrepid duo are charged by “Murphy” (Steve Kazan) to work with the IAD detective “Lorna” (Rene Russo) and track down the perpetrator. It takes them all of five minutes to work out that they have to track down rogue “Lt. Travis” (Stuart Wilson) who is involved in a nefarious gun-running enterprise. Finding him might have got a little easier when realtor “Getz” (Joe Pesci) reckons he has seem him somewhere so that starts them on a trail of the usual pyrotechnics, shoot ‘em ups and car chases which, along the way, sees “Murtaugh” enter a depth of despair that only his pal can drag him from as “Travis” has now made everything just a little bit more personal. It is at it’s best when it is just Gibson and Glover, the pithy script and some wise-cracking but I found the burgeoning romance between “Riggs” and “Lorna” a bit of a drag and the only highlight from the downright annoying Pesci is on his head. It’s a solid story well executed by a director who keeps the pace moving whilst letting the two stars clearly have some high-octane fun. I reckon it is the weakest of the three so far, but it’s still watchable escapism.

The public get what they want. In this third instalment of the popular Lethal Weapon series, Murtaugh is counting down the days till he finally hangs up his badge, but he and Riggs run into an ex-cop who is dealing in special cop-killing bullets. In total there were four Lethal Weapon films, regardless of quality (they declined in quality with each release) each film made gargantuan amounts of money. Who could blame those involved for milking it for all it was worth if the paying public demanded it eh? Made for $35 million, part 3 went on to make Worldwide $321 million, thus ensuring that a part 4 was inevitable. But is Lethal Weapon 3 actually any good? Was the loyal paying public rewarded for their time?. Well yes, chances are that if you were already a fan of the series then this does deliver all you wanted and hoped for. Director Richard Donner and his team of writers shrewdly cottoned on to the basic fact that the ante had to be raised. It's a pretty light plot in truth, but enter more explosions, more action and make Riggs more comically reckless than usual, well it's a successful formula - even if Riggs and Murtaugh are now in essence just a comedy double act (one man love sequence not withstanding that is). Into the mix comes karate-kicking Internal Affairs female sergeant Lorna Cole (a more than agreeable turn from Rene Russo), who simultaneously gives Riggs more scope for gags and a love interest, and love him or hate him, Joe Pesci again pops in with mirth as the whiny Leo Getz. Stuart Wilson gets to play the bad guy with relish, and just to show it's not all about slam bangery and japes, the film also boasts having an affecting strand about kids with guns on the streets - and of course the scum who put those guns into those hands. It's all very simple and disposable in the world of the popcorn actioner, and yeah, it's not as good as what came before it in the series, but it's still an entertaining viewing for the series fans regardless. 7/10

**_More fun and dynamic police action with Mel Gibson and Danny Glover_** Riggs & Murtaugh (Gibson and Glover) team-up with a kick-axx internal affairs officer (Rene Russo) to take down an ex-cop (Stuart Wilson) who’s smuggling confiscated guns to L.A. gangs. Joe Pesci is also on hand. "Lethal Weapon 3" (1992) is more-of-the-same in the successful series helmed by Richard Donner. Like the first two, it’s an over-the-top cop thriller with amusing camaraderie and rapid-fire banter. You have to roll with the outrageousness in order to enjoy it, just as you do with similar cop thrillers, like "The Gauntlet" (1977), although that one’s superior, as are the Dirty Harry flicks IMHO. Of the first three, I marginally prefer the second one (1989), but this one is entertaining enough. The film runs 1 hour, 58 minutes, and was shot in the greater Los Angeles area with some stuff done in Florida (like the building blowing up at the end, which was shot in St. Petersburg). GRADE: B-
