**Les Petites Victoires** is a truly captivating film that has a way of getting to you, even if it is at times a little too obvious. From the second chances to second acts and, of course, the universal themes of solidarity, Mélanie Auffret weaves a good human story. Blanc comes across as sensitive and moving, and Julia Piaton has honestly played a strong and dedicated woman.

Nevertheless, there is little surprise in spots, and the typical plot sometimes makes one feel a bit like he's experiencing "déjà vu". Yet it abounds in charm on account of its slight humor and the warmth of the personalities and the Breton setting.

It is heartfelt and uplifting, but with nothing that would bring anything new to revolutionize the genre. **Les Petites Victoires** is a fine tribute to life's small pleasures, delivered with sensitivity, fine but very articulate direction, and a believable duo of actors.
