My friend Iggy and I watched this film years ago when we were still young and malleable. I remember we started the film well within the witching hours of the night.

I can perfectly recall my friend's facial expressions of awe and anguish during this time. I could read his thoughts in his eyes:

-Is the meaning of life to end it?
-Are we such nihilistic beings that eggs and milk are not enough, and we need to turn them into meringue, butter, clotted cream and stuff ourselves with cake?
-Those prostitutes sure aren't very professional.
-Man, I really want some cake.

Things kept happening until they didn't. And then we had a lengthly discussion during breakfast. Coffee and cigarettes were consumed aplenty while we humbly tried to discuss the matters portrait in the film, and even more, it didn't stop with the petty lifes of individuals, but also of time and space.

Breakfast turned into lunch and when it finally ended our view on life had changed. Such is the power of this film, and they call it a comedy!

My friend decided that life was in fact very much worth living after all and changed his career path from computing engineering to vaudeville compositeur. He's doing great, but now he only watches films about zombies or vampires, to avoid tainting his art.
I'm trying to breed pastel coloured ponies. It's not going so well.

Anyhow I'd advise anyone who is going to watch this film to think about it twice, because it may change you forever.
