Overview

Set in a near future, technology-reliant society that pits man against killing machines. Against this backdrop an elite army unit is helicoptered to a remote, off-the-grid island training facility. What starts out as a simple training exercise for Captain Bukes and his tight-knit unit, descends into a terrifying battle to the death, as the marines discover the island is overrun by an enemy that transcends the human concept of evil.

About 20 minutes in, still wasn'#39;t engaged, about the time a soldier walks backwards into the grip of a killer robot. Wound up skipping to the militarized robot scenes as the effects are the only thing worth watching in '#34;Kill Command'#34;. A good story and better pacing could'#39;ve compensated for the lackluster plot and inexperienced actors.

FX are good, the actors are too but seriously the scenario is missing.. 404 - Scenario not found

Tagline for the film: '#34;We'#39;ll fix it in post.'#34; They lied.

I can'#39;t add to what has already been said on this page. The special effects were great, the story was not. Still, for the budget, the filmmakers need to be commended on a good effort. They just need to work on the script next time.

Visually really good. The batlle scenes are OK but what was the purpose of all this ? Where is the story and the meaning? The director has a VFX company - maybe he wanted to just show what he can do with small budget.

I think the actors did their level best to put believable characters on screen after being given very little to work with by a mediocre script. There'#39;s a lot of focus on the robot battles, but the characters seem underdeveloped. The visual effects could be called impressive given the small budget this film had to work with, but visual effects are kind of the easy part of filmmaking these days—the software has already been written, you just have to use it. Scriptwriting is the hard part, and this story could have said so much more. It started to develop characters in the first act, but once the action started all character work basically fell by the wayside. It'#39;s too bad, really—there'#39;s a kernel of good world-building in here that was never really utilized.

A good film with an intriguing story, but it fails to keep the viewer fully engaged. The lack of explanations and some senseless elements detract from the film, as does the shallow development of characters, which makes it hard to empathize with them—resulting in deaths that don't have a significant emotional impact. Despite this, I don't consider the film bad; it has its positives, such as the protagonist, well-done special effects, an interesting concept, and satisfying action scenes.

Good movie. The ending was stupid and makes it known that the director/writer knows nothing of code execution...

Robotic Predators. cheap Predator redo. like it had the budget of one episode of Black mirror. not much else to say.

Bad script, great special effects! Considering this movie had a tiny budget of only 1.4 million dollars it is way more value for it'#39;s money than you'#39;d normally expect. Even the acting is not something to complain over, if only it had a more interesting script and it probably would'#39;ve been in my top list of 2016.

Kill Command reminded me so much of the late 80s / early 90's movie of military robots going rogue. Sure, it wasn't set in space like they were. And sure the special effects were slicker, especially the robots. But it is still the same overly simplistic story with the same twists added that the script writers don't seem to have noticed every movie of this genre has. But it is hard to call it retro - there is no specific reference to it's predecessors - almost as if they crew didn't want to acknowledge the long history of this recycled storyline Is it worth watching? Well, for me, I watch those rubbish movies, so yes. But for most, life won't be improved with this 90 minute investment of your time.

Like _Dog Soldiers_ meets _The Terminator_, except nowhere near as good as either. Cliché sci-fi but with some great original designs. _Final rating:★★½ - Had a lot that appealed to me, didn’t quite work as a whole._

The plot of this movie is not exactly a new one. Robots created by humans, created to learn, decides to do things their way. The way of robots is usually detrimental to the health of any humans nearby. When the robots in question happens to be combat robots then shit is about to hit the fan … big time! It sounds pretty good. The problem is that I found the implementation rather mediocre. It starts off looking rather good with scenes of Mills in the company head quarters and a few cool scenes showing off her eye implants. The movie then moves on to present the military squad that are about to have an unpleasant first hand experience of the “robot way”. Unfortunately the writer fell for the all too boring and cheap plot element of making the commander an asshole who looks down on anyone who is not a marine grunt. Sigh. Then it is quickly off to the island training facility. After the obligatory banter between the marines and Mills in the rather bizarre and not very believable transport ship it is time for some action as the marines deploy. The rest of the movie is pretty much a long sequence alternating between shot outs between the troops and the robots and moments of reflection. The behavior of this so called elite marine squad is amateurish. The robots are underwhelming. What especially ticked me off was that the robots did not seem to be able to hit anything except by pure luck. And these were supposed to be high tech stuff. The marines even use simple smoke to evade them. What the fuck? Advanced killer robots in the future that relies on visual and cannot shoot straight? That is disappointing to say the least. Of course there had to be a big shootout in the end. Unfortunately it was just more of what we had seen before. Robots shooting, and missing, wildly. The marines killing them off in rather large, but not sufficiently large, numbers. Finally someone thought about using EMP charges. However here the writer comes up with another stupid plot element. Implants that were not immediately hurt by an EMP pulse but would slowly degrade afterwards and, just for good measure, erase the human memories of the implanted person as well. Contrived and stupid as far as I am concerned. The end? Well about as meh as you could expect from a low budget sci-fi/horror movie wannabe. The movie was not outright bad and it did have some interesting ideas but it was pretty clear that it was on a budget with constraints. The writing, the robot designs which seemed to be done by someone caring only about visual appearance and not if the design actually made sense, dragged down the movie.
