A lot scarier than I thought! This film follows a group of production team on trip to shoot their first film and there's one person documenting the whole process. Upon arrival, things go sideways as they begin to experience strange occurrences and some supernatural forces are believed to enter their female talent's body. With a helps of a psychic, they try to do an exorcism on her but she disappears without a trace. They have to endure the most terrifying journey in order to save her. I believe this is the first Indonesian film to adapt found footage technique. The film was scary as hell. It gives some bone-chilling scares and still delivers the message loud and clear. The way it incorporates various local myths with eerie Javanese singing and instrumention to build the horror elements is really fascinating. I think what makes this film works is the interesting set of characters. Everything felt organic which is needed in this type of film. They know how to switch things up to keep my attentions and really allow me to viscerally take part in the story and bond with them. Despite some Javanese dialogues that I don't understand, I really enjoyed this one.
