Overview
Jerry Maguire used to be a typical sports agent: willing to do just about anything he could to get the biggest possible contracts for his clients, plus a nice commission for himself. Then, one day, he suddenly has second thoughts about what he's really doing. When he voices these doubts, he ends up losing his job and all of his clients, save Rod Tidwell, an egomaniacal football player.

Classic movie giving you plenty of thoughts about life, love, adventure that you can think of. I saw it more than once and never found it boring.
A sports manager with principles. Show me the Money!
This is a stone cold classic that holds up and then some. Love it.
Jerry Maguire was a much better movie for the first third. I really wasn'#39;t a huge fan of the Renee Zellweger'#39;s character or her acting and that detracted from my enjoyment of the movie a lot, especially as '#34;romance'#34; played a more prominent part further in. These later scenes just ended up being very cringeworthy for me though and I can'#39;t at all relate to that level of impulsiveness so Jerry himself just felt painful to watch. It was nice to see Cruise again before he became Mr Generic Action Hero, and Cuba Gooding, Jr. was great, though I'#39;m a bit surprised to learn he got an Oscar for it. The ending was really contrived and, despite a strong start, overall the movie was pretty ehh.
Loved it.
Solid. Show me the money.
“Show me the money!” From writer/director Cameron Crowe comes the touching romantic comedy _Jerry Maguire_. When a crisis of conscience costs a sports agent his job, he’s forced to start over again with a single client and a plucky assistant who believes in his cause. Tom Cruise, Renee Zellweger, and Cuba Gooding Jr. lead the cast and give solid performances. The writing’s also pretty good, and stays away from the usual tropes of sports films and romantic comedies. Still, there are some extraneous elements and weaknesses in the plot. Heartwarming and fun, _Jerry Maguire_ is a sincere and entertaining film.
I ended up being much more interested in Rody's story than in Jerry's and Dorothea's
Both romantic, and motivational at the same time, I liked it a lot, I've been watching the earliest Tom Cruise's filmography and he has been very talented since the beginning of his career It was nice to see Renee Zellwager too, I didn't saw her in anything since Chicago The Movie
Excellent heartwarming movie that lives from the excellent acting performances of its main cast.
_"You complete me" "Shut up. Shut up. You had me from hello."_ Absolutely iconic. A film that goes beyond the typical romance or even romcom film stereotype. I am a "redundant" fan of romance stuff. If I feel like it I see it, if I don't I don't, in other words, I don't make a point of seeing it, I'm not an avid viewer. But, Jerry Maguire... The joy and pleasure I get from reviewing this masterpiece surpasses any feeling I get from watching other works of the genre. The genuineness of the performances by the lead actors (my love Tom Cruise and the great Bridget Jones, Renée Zellweger) makes the viewer create a certain empathy for each character's story. Additionally, Jerry Maguire is not the typical romantic comedy. The attempt to convey a side story of Jerry, through his sudden realization, is the real impetus for the viewer to wonder about his attitudes and the attention we pay to what is material. According to a Forbes article (2020), one of the most iconic films of the 90's. For me, one of the most iconic films ever. I leave you with this quote: "SHOW ME THE MONEY"
_Jerry Maguire_ is a classic 90's movie that is still entertaining to this day. While the movie may exaggerate the relationship between agents and players, it is still a fun and enjoyable watch. The film features memorable performances from its talented cast, and the story has enough heart and humor to keep you engaged throughout. While it may not be completely accurate in its portrayal of the sports industry, it is a movie that is sure to entertain.
I was a bit bored, but Gooding, Zellweger and little Lipnicki made this movie. Cruise is some kind of background only next to them...
Tom Cruise doing it all, making you laugh, love and cry, with the supporting cast right up there. Even truer now about how we live in a cynical world and the goal is to find someone you can be earnest with.
Somehow, this is the first time I had watched this movie from start to finish. It is really solid, even if you are not a Tom Cruise fan. The rest of the supporting cast is really solid and comes together to make a sports film with heart (who would have guessed Tom had this genre in him?!?). Rating: 3.5/5 - 80% - Would Recommend
What a classic! They don't make movies like that anymore, times have changed. It's not about sports as much as it is about being loyal to your principles, heart, integrity and importance of the family.
Good movie, didn’t expect this much romantic in it. Besides that it was a very good movie!
This movie is so nineties. The structure, the narrative, the character development. I don't mean it is not good, but it definitely belong to those films that are stuck in their moment. I think Tom Cruise is great as the leading character.
'gt;"I just want to be inspired." This is a classic with so many memorable lines that have been quoted for 2 decades. If you have seen other Cameron Crow movies you can tell immediately that this is his film by the cinematography to the storytelling. Fun fact: Didn't realize until this rewatch that it is based on an actual sports agent that represented Troy Aikmen.
“SHOW ME THE MONEY” -Michael Scott While it has it’s issues Jerry Maguire is mainly a delightful film about a handful of people’s journeys to find happiness that I’ll certainly be drawn to revisit many times in the future.
They don'#39;t make them like this anymore. A romantic comedy that appeals to both guys and gals. A perfect script by Cameron Crowe.
I am a firm believer that movies should be seen in the context of the time they were released in. Of course looking back twenty years now the movie seems over the top and contrived. But back in 1996 this was the perfect date movie. It had sports for the guys and romance for the girls. It also had what I would consider one of Tom Cruise’s best acting jobs. For anyone who hasn’t seen it I can absolutely recommend this. “You complete me” and '#34;You had me at hello'#34; are part of movie quote history today and if you are a fan of movies you owe it to yourself to know where it comes from.
A sports manager with principles. Show me the money!

_**Leaving the fast lane of greed for friendship, love and… loyalty**_ A quick-talking big-time sports agent (Tom Cruise) has an epiphany and swiftly loses his job with a big sports management corporation, but retains one loyal colleague (Renee Zellweger) and one outrageous NFL client (Cuba Gooding Jr). Can they rise from the ashes? Kelly Preston, Bonnie Hunt and Regina King are also on hand. Jerry Maguire” (1996) is equal parts spirited drama, romantic comedy and sports flick. It effectively illustrates how the fast-paced cutthroat world isn’t interested in inspiring, well-meaning truth, but that doesn’t negate the value of honest friendship, genuine love and, most of all, loyalty. It’s all-around ‘hip’ and entertaining, slowing down for the mid-section. But the last act drives everything home and is moving. It pretty much represents the best of the sometimes dubious genre (romcom). The film runs 2 hours, 19 minutes, and was shot in the Los Angeles area as well as the Phoenix/Tempe region of Arizona, including Lost Dutchman State Park just east of there. GRADE: A-

“Jerry” (Tom Cruise) is a successful sports agent who spins the most outrageous yarns to his would-be clients in return for their business and could probably sell sand to a Bedouin. Then, well he has a bit of a brain freeze and decides to reveal some of the tricks of his trade to the great unwashed. All that does it get him canned, but not before he can rescue one client from his rapidly dwindling sources of employment. That is American football nonentity “Tidwell” (Cuba Gooding Jnr.). Now he’s a bit of a pratt, but is a decent and untypically loyal cove who is happily married to “Marcee” (Regina King) and he has potential for a $10 millions contract - if only he can knuckle down and show he has that elusive star quality that brings in the big bucks. Meantime, “Jerry” meets and falls head over heels with “Dorothy” (Renée Zellweger). They marry but we quickly discover that that’s not the adrenaline rush he is needing. Yep, he needs his bro-dance partner to get onto that ball park and do the business. This sees one of Cruise’s more natural performances as he delivers, initially at any rate, quite a compelling impersonation of a venal manipulator out to promise the moon. As the story moves along, though, his role is rather subsumed into a gloop of cheese that’s only really saved by an engaging and enthusiastic effort from a no holes barred Gooding who enters into the spirit of his character quite enjoyably. Zellweger has her moments too, but for the most part her character is consigned to a fairly predicable story arc that doesn’t really add much to what is essentially a story about loyalty and learning to appreciate what really matters in life. Well that, and a sock in the eye to the old boss too! It’s quite pithily scripted and whizzes along poking a little fun at the excesses of an industry that massively overpays for mediocrity, hype and is largely devoid of folks with too much soul.
