Io e Spotty

_Io e Spotty_ is a film with a courageous and by no means banal subject. And it is not surprising, given that it comes straight from the hands of Manetti Bros., two cult brothers of contemporary Italian underground cinema. The problem is that if the production is entrusted (even in part) to Rai Cinema and the director does not have an iron backbone, the risk is that of a missed opportunity. Thus, if a Michela De Rossi somehow manages to get away with it, for his part Filippo Scotti is decidedly poor in this leading role. The script suffers heavily from ambition. The mixture of sentimentality and existential malaise is poorly explored. In short, there are many flaws in this product. Nevertheless, this film remains interesting and may deserve the time of those who are willing to embrace its positive aspects.
