House of Wax

This film is what you would expect from the general horror movie. There were some interesting scenes here and there, and the initial part was actually entertaining to watch. However, the actual plot left much to be desired, and what were supposed to be the horror scenes felt only like some generic action sequences. The plot is nothing special. It has an interesting concept - and, in fact, the initial scene is quite intriguing -, but seems to fail to live up to its potential, turning into just another 'traumatized boys murder people' plot. The twist is cliche to the extreme and felt entirely without purpose or much consequence, except to give the movie a sequel. The villains were poorly developed, and much potential was lost. While the main characters start off interesting enough, and the acting is better than in most horror movies, Wade seems to turn into someone completely different once he enters the House of Wax. The movie is entertaining, but it seems lacklustre, and like it failed to deliver its own initial potential.

i like the characters, such a great movie.
